He knew she hadn't slept well for the past couple of days. Not wanting to disturb her, he simply

Even the light action of the blanket landing on her was enough to startle Eudora awake.
Her eyes sprung open, and her energy seemed to improve significantly.
After resting for a while, she went to the bathroom to bathe and change. Then she picked a book from
the study and started reading it on the couch.
It felt like she hadn't been reading for very long, but when Colbert came out of the study and saw her
still engrossed in her book, he promptly took it from her. "It's two o'clock in the morning. Go to sleep."
His commanding tone was reminiscent of a stern brother speaking to his younger sister.

With no book, she suddenly felt bored. Then she recalled the title of the book and searched for it on a
reading app on her phone. Finding her place, she continued reading.
Before she knew it, it was already four or five in the morning. Exhausted, she could barely keep her
eyes open and fell asleep on the couch.
Colbert came over and stood next to the couch for a while, watching the sleeping Eudora with a
puzzled look.

cheek, she swatted his hand away and whimpered softly.
Then, she hugged him like an octopus, pulling him close, finding a comfortable position and fell back
asleep.
Colbert lay next to her, quietly observing her. He studied her cheeks, her eyebrows, her eyes, and her
red lips. In the end, he couldn't resist and leaned down to kiss her lips.
He was helpless against his feelings.
