“I forgot my shoes.” Luis pouted while Christian buckled him up. “Don’t worry about your shoes.”

Christian felt bad for what he was about to do—but he was desperate to keep Serena and the babysafe,meant Serena not talking to him ever again.

He got into the driver’s seat and sped off. There were only four and a half hours left. If this new planwouwould’ve all been for nothing. “Where are you taking me?” Luis asked after a while.

“I’m taking you to my place.” Christian lied to Luis, but Luis was much smarter than that. “Your place isthLuis whispered. Christian felt bad and knew that Luis might’ve had an idea of what was about tohappenchoice.

“Luis, you know that I would never do anything to hurt you, right?” Christian looked at him for asecond.mumbled. “And I know that you are keeping Serena safe.”

“Good,” Christian spoke. “Then you also know that you have to go back to your brother.”

“N-no, I don’t want to!” Luis freaked out and tried to open the locked car door. “Luis, calm down—Vinceyou, I will make sure of it,” Christian reassured him. He had a plan, but for that plan to go throughhe hadback to his brother—even if it was just for a short while.

“How do you know?” Luis spoke while tears left his eyes. “I’m sure Vince has been looking for youeverywbrother is not…well right now, and we’re only making it worse.”

“I can’t go back there—Fabio will kill me for helping Beau.” Luis cried. Christian felt bad for having tocruway—but he could only deal with so much, and Vincenzo wasn’t one of them.

“He won’t, I will talk to your brother and it will just be for a little while—after everything is finished I’llpiplease trust me.” Christian looked at Luis whose face was filled with tears. “Serena was right,” Luiswhispelooked out the window.

“No, she wasn’t. I will save the both of you—you just have to trust me.” Christian spoke before hecalled him on speaker. “Christian?”

“Yes, dad it’s me—so listen. Plans have changed and I need everyone to be ready and we have fourhourwith Fabio by today.” Christian nervously spoke. He knew it was dangerous to drop a bomb likethis and should’ve called him from the start, but rather late than never.

“I should just die right now.” Lucio sighed in between some curse words. “Dad, listen—you need tocollenow, and I need you to send Johnny, Luca and even more backup to Serena, she needs all thesecurity shtold him.

“I’ve already informed security and the others in the guest house—we have four more hours.”

“Christian, what is going on!” Lucio worried. “It’s a long story, and I’ll be there soon—but Fabio mightbelittle earlier than planned.” Christian tried to play it off with a laugh.

“I was thinking, something seemed off. I think the reason why Fabio hasn’t killed you yet despiteknowinof the truth, is because he wants the two of you together.” Christian shared his conclusion. “Aslong as yoare not together, the two of you are safe.”

“So what do I do?” Beau asked. “Vince’s puppy and Chrissie’s puppy, you just can’t think for yourself—ccompletely ignored Isobel’s voice in the background.

“I know you don’t want anything to do with them, but you are going to have to start by telling theAlfonThe plan will only work if Fabio can’t get to you—so you’ll need their protection.” Christian toldhim. “If to keep her safe, then I’ll do it.
