Chapter 130

Chapter 130

“Good morning!” I sang and forced a bright smile on my face as I joined the others at the dining table.Almost the entire family, including Luis, was present, and it was a long time since that happened.

“Good morning. Do you have plans for today?” Luke immediately asked after seeing I was dressedfrom head to toe. “Just going out.” I smiled as I pulled out Siena’s chair and sat her down.

There was no way in hell that I was going to tell them about my meeting with Christian. Everything wasgoing perfectly fine, and I did not want to ruin it. “Are you okay, Beau?” I asked my brother, who had asmile on his face. Seeing him smile was still a weird concept.

“Fine,” Beau smiled. Luis was in his own world and made his homework. “Is that for today, Luis?” Iwondered, but he shook his head. “It’s for next week!”

“Next week!” I gasped. “That’s very good of you!”

It was quiet, and no one interacted with each other. Luke and Lita were eating their food, Luis wasdoing. his homework, and Carmen was on her phone. What a nice family get together. “Can I talk toyou?” Beau asked. “Sure.” I nodded.

“Mom, can you watch Siena for me?” I asked. She frowned her eyebrows and nodded her headwithout. making any eye contact. The same woman who was supposedly so desperate to get me backwas already. tired of me. Even though I still tried to adjust, Beau and I were always different from ourother siblings) and shared different views on many things because we did not grow up with them.

I followed Beau to the living room and patiently waited for him to make the first step. He was going toapologize.

“Serena, I’m sorry.” Beau began. “I took out my anger on you, and it was wrong. You’re the last person Iwant to argue with-”

“I know.” I nodded. “We mostly have each other, so we shouldn’t argue. If something’s bothering you, Iwant to know so I can fix it.”

Beau pulled me into a hug. “It’s not you.”

“Also, when you see Christian today-I want you to thank him for everything.”

“See, who?” I asked, startled, as I was trying to think of ways to deny his accusations. “I’m your twin. Iknow what you’re up to.” Beau smirked. He wasn’t angry. He remained highly calm, which wassurprising. considering he hated him.

“I’m sorry, I wanted to tell you, but our families are obviously not getting along. I-

“Just tell him I’m grateful.” Beau stopped me from talking. “Tell him that I still want to kill him, but I’mgrateful.”

“For?” I frowned. “He didn’t tell you?” Beau asked. “Christian got Isobel’s grandfather so far to turneverything back around.”

“The news should be official tomorrow.”

“What?” I gasped. “Are you serious!” I smiled as I patiently waited for him to tell me it was all a joke.Christian really did the impossible, and I didn’t even want to think about how much he did to get that far.“Why would he do something like that?”

“For you, of course, stupid” Beau chuckled. “Oh right, he wants to get back together again.” I suddenlyremembered. The gesture was nice, but it still wasn’t enough. Right?

“And what do you want?” Beau sighed. His reaction was different from what I expected. “You know, you’re the first person to ask me that.”

“All I want is for us to get along, and I’m afraid that won’t happen if we do get back together,” I admitted.“I know mom and dad are annoying, but I don’t want to lose them or anyone else in the family.”

“I know,” Beau spoke. “I still think Christian deserves a beating, but no relationship is perfect. There willalways be arguments.”

“I thought you hated him?” I frowned, but Beau shook his head. “I don’t hate him, I just think he’s anidiot, but I also think mom and dad need to stop controlling our lives. Dad really had me thinking he wassome devil while he literally walked through fire to see you happy.” Beau sighed.

“I know!” I spoke. “I like it here, but I also feel like a prisoner sometimes.”

“About that,” Beau whispered as he broke our eye contact. For some reason, I knew what was about tocome. “I’ve stayed here for you, but it’s time to live my own life, and I can’t do this anymore-I’m sorry.”

“That’s funny, me neither.” I laughed. “It’s finally time for me to use that ‘compensation’ money.”

“Good.” Beau sighed, relieved. “And then there’s this other thing.”

“God, you’re scaring me-just tell me what it is,” I spoke as he looked at me with a nervous smile on hisface.

“I proposed to Isobel.”

“What?” 1 exclaimed. “Excuse me. You did what? The two of you haven’t even been together for thatlong!”

Well, we were twins.

“She’s pregnant.” Beau sighed. “Oh, my…okay?” I muttered as I tried to observe his expression. I didn’tknow if I had to congratulate him. “You guys just got together. Haven’t you learned anything from me,little brother?”

“No.” Beau chuckled. “I suppose I haven’t, but I love her, and I’m happy. I’m supposed to hateChristian, but he saved me because I had a difficult decision to make—”

“You had to choose between her and me?” I realized. “I would’ve followed you, no matter howdesperate I am for a family. You should know that.” I told Beau. “I love all of my siblings, and as crazyas it sounds, I love mom and dad-but I’d choose you over the Alfonzo’s any day, especially after howthey let me handle the Christian situation.”

“I know now,” Beau smiled. “That’s why I can’t get angry and you should at least let him see Siena, andI know I said some stupid stuff and said he shouldn’t be seeing her at all, but Siena has nothing to dowith this.”

My mind went to Christian, who decided to be my knight in shining armor at the right time. We weren’teven together anymore, but he was still taking care of me. “No one knows, only you and Carmen,” 1confessed. “Dad was already angry that I took Siena to the Lamberti’s by myself, so just imagine.”

“Imagine me breaking the news about Isobel’s pregnancy to the family while she would still bedisowned.” Beau laughed along. “We’re both a mess.”

“That’s why we have to stick together,” I told him and pulled him into a hug. “I don’t ever want to thinkthat you hate me, and I don’t ever want to argue with you ever again.”

“Me neither.” Beau agreed. “Please tell Christian that I’m still going to give him a punch when I see him,so he should prepare himself-but I’m also grateful.”

“You’re so strange.”

“Anyway, I should go.”

It seemed weird, but I was really excited to see Christian and to tell him how grateful I was, but alsoreally happy to spend time with him. It seemed crazy because I couldn’t figure out whether I was reallygoing for Siena or myself.novelbin

Beau was right. Every relationship had their up and downs and arguments, but not every couplecheated. on each other, which made the situation more complicated, and that was why I was so unsureof what to do.

“You go and enjoy your day.” Beau smiled. “I am going to visit Isobel, so.”

The smile on Beau’s face warmed my heart, and seeing him happy made me happy. All I wanted wasfor everyone to be satisfied, but for some reason, that didn’t seem easy.

After I said my goodbyes to Beau, I wasted no time and left the house with Siena. I was in no mood todeal with my grumpy family, but I knew it wouldn’t last for long. After they would hear about Isobeltomorrow, they would learn to accept her, just like they would learn to accept the pregnancy.

A happy feeling went through my body as I entered the gates of the mansion I once used to live in. Ididn’t know whether it was because I looked forward to seeing Christian or because it felt like home.

He was standing at the door and had a welcoming smile on his face. He appeared to be in a goodmood today.

Christian rushed over to the backseat, and I quickly realized that the smile on his face wasn’t meant forme. “Is she asleep? Why is she being boring?” Christian commented as he unbuckled the car seat.

“She’s not boring. She’s a baby.” I laughed. “And put her down. We have to talk.”

Christian followed my instructions and gave me a doubtful look. “You’re not in trouble. It’s about thatthing you did for my brother.”

“Oh, so he knows?” Christian smiled with a proud look on his face, as if he was waiting for me to givehim a compliment. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck.

“Thank you so much!” I whispered as I pulled him into a tight embrace. “I don’t think you’ve realizedwhat you’ve done.”

“I know,” Christian laughed. “Come on, let’s go inside so you can praise me even more.” He spoke andgrabbed Siena.

“How did you even do something like that?” I wondered. “That’s easy.” Christian sighed. “I signed awaythe rights to Siena’s hotel, but it’s just until she’s of age.”

“W-what?” I stuttered. “I know how much that meant to you.”

The hotel was all he could talk about, and he put so much time and energy into making sure thingswere

perfect. The lengths he was willing to go to restore our relationship were beyond, and I gave himnothing

in return

“It meant a lot to me, but I can always buy her another one-but I can’t find someone like you, Serena”Christian smiled. “Here we go again.” I sighed as he grabbed my hand and searched for eye contact.

“I don’t want you to feel like you owe me anything because you don’t-but I want you to know that Ihelped Beau because I wanted to help him,” Christian spoke. That was typically Christian, always tryingto help everyone.

I looked into his eyes and rested my hands on either side of his cheeks. It felt like I didn’t had anycontrol over my hands, and I did not know what I was doing. Christian stared right back into my eyesand leaned in closer until he rested his forehead against mine.

The voice in my head told me to pull away, but I couldn’t. “1-1 don’t know how to thank you,” Iwhispered. as I caressed his cheeks,

“How about a kiss?” Christian asked, politely. I laughed at his unexpected question as my heart meltedat the soft look on his face. He was trying so hard, but we couldn’t fall back into the same pattern.

“A kiss?”
