Josiah raised an eyebrow. “What do you think?”
Her eyes shimmered with a trace of ambiguity. “I’ve always thought,” the woman began, her voice lowand sultry, “that her style is precisely the kind that would captivate you.”
Josiah chuckled, “We’ve barely known each other a handful of days, and yet you claim to understandme
so well?”
“It’s not about how long you know someone, but rather how deeply you perceive them. However, I dobelieve in a woman’s intuition,” she retorted. “There’s something distinct in the way you look at her.”
Josiah emitted a dismissive snort. “There’s no difference whatsoever.”
“You seem to resent her, yet not entirely. Did she wrong you somehow in the past?”

“Liar.” The woman chuckled, gently swirling her wine glass as she fixed her gaze on Lysander intently.“Well, suit yourself. But given how generous you’ve been these past few days, I feel compelled to offeryou a friendly piece of advice. Women might say they appreciate gentleness and thoughtfulness, butdeep down, they all desire to be overwhelmingly charmed, to be utterly swept off their feet. Josiah’s brow furrowed slightly, reflecting deep thought.
With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, the woman smirked. “She’s approaching. Need me to stir thingsup a bit?”
Josiah, showing a hint of annoyance, pushed her away. “Have your boss discuss the payment with mysecretary later.”
“All right. I truly value clients like you, Mr. Guerra. No need for any romantic entanglements, yet thecompensation is quite generous. Actually, I find myself missing you already.”
“Josiah,” By this time, Lysander had already approached the pair.
With a smile as dazzling as the stars, the lady with red lips and curly hair greeted warmly, “Hello there.”
Lysander gave her a glance. “I’m sorry to interrupt, may I have a moment of your time? It won’t takelong. I just need to discuss something with Mr. Guerra, and I’ll be on my way.”
With an all–knowing smile still playing on her lips, the other woman responded, “You two go ahead withyour discussion. Feel free to take your time.”
She then rose from her seat, walking away with a captivating sway in her high heels.
Lysander waved her hand slightly, dispersing the lingering aroma in the air. “This scent is a bitunusual,” she noted. “Is it perfume?”
Mm.” Josiah’s face returned to an indifferent expression. “Are you here for Zachary, or for Daphne?”

Given his height, Josiah looked down at her with an air of superiority. “I’ve already told you, I’m notgetting involved,” he said dismissively.
Lysander remained silent for a moment before slipping a card into his hand.
Josiah pinched the card between his fingers, eyeing the inscription. “Hurton… Hotel?”
Lysander confirmed, “It’s booked for the next three days.”
“Hmph.
“If things don’t pan out, we can always extend our reservation.”
“I’ve mentioned before, I’m not short on female companionship.” Josiah remarked, placing the cardback on the bar and sliding it toward her. “Besides, I have a girlfriend now. It really isn’t appropriate foryou to be doing this. Dr. Thorne.”
This was uncharted territory for Lysander, and the embarrassment was evident on her face.
She kept her gaze lowered. “Y–You may have a girlfriend, but that hasn’t stopped your flirtations, hasit? That woman earlier, and all the other women here tonight…”
“So, are you here to teach me a lesson on etiquette?”
“No.” Lysander simply stated, “I can’t think of any other approach. Or perhaps you can suggestsomething? Whatever it takes, I’m prepared to do.”
Josiah’s expression turned icy. “It appears you’didn’t grasp a word of what I said during our lastmeeting.”
As they faced off, another familiar figure entered, dragging a suitcase behind him. He called out softly,“Lysander?”
Lysander was visibly surprised. “Dr. Sutton?
Wasn’t he supposed to be in Stounia? How has he returned so suddenly?
Adrian explained, “I just bumped into Aiden. He mentioned you might be here. And Mr. Guerra is alsopresent, I see.”
A hint of sarcasm tinged Josiah’s voice, “Are you here to visit Lysander, Dr. Sutton?”
“Yes.” Adrian glanced between Lysander and Josiah, settling his gaze back on her. “But it seems like…my timing could have been better??
“No, it’s just surprising to see you here so suddenly. Is everything all right back home?” Lysanderasked.
Adrian shrugged nonchalantly, flashing a smile. “Nothing major happening back home! It’s justincredibly boring being abroad alone. So, this time I brought your dog. White Coat, with me on theplane. It’s not fair 2/4

Suddenly, Josiah interjected, “It’s good that you’re here, Dr. Sutton. Your girlfriend seems to beencountering some difficulties and needs assistance. As a man soon to be married, it’s hard for me tojustify helping her continually to my fiancée.”
Adrian raised an eyebrow. “Are you… about to be married, Mr. Guerra?”
“That’s right.”
“May I inquire who the lucky lady is? Is it… Lysanne?”
Josiah let out a casual chuckle. “No, it’s Tiffany.”
Adrian silently repeated the name, clearly unfamiliar to him
Josiah clarified, “Riveron Corporation, the Lanister family.”
Adrian nodded slowly, understanding the context. “I’m not frequently in the country, but I’ve heard ofRiveron Corporation. Ms. Lanister’s background seems quite compatible with yours, Mr. Guerra.Congratulations in advance.”
Gratefully, Josiah accepted the congratulation., “Thank you. We’ll certainly send an invitation to youwhen the wedding preparations commence.”
“All right, I’ll definitely be there,” Adrian stated, his brow creasing slightly as he looked at Lysander. “Issomething troubling you? If there’s any way I can help, don’t hesitate to let me know.”
“You can’t help,” she responded after a pause.
“Perhaps you could explain further?” Adrian suggested, “I’m sure I can do what he can.”

Adrian simply stated, “I don’t have any ulterior motives, I just want to be there for you when you needhelp. In the past, you were married, so there wasn’t much I could do. But now, with your relationshipwith Mr. Guerra winding down, things are more clearly defined.”
“Indeed,” Josiah added, removing his gold–rimmed glasses and meticulously cleaning them as hespoke. “Dr. Sutton may be a respected/physician, but he is also the eldest son of the Sutton family.There’s no reason for you to feel awkward when asking your boyfriend for help. Dr. Thorne.”
