Chapter 395 Revealing My Attitude.

Josiah clearly choked up a bit, then said, “We’re not staying in the same resort as last time.”

He added, “The air is better up in the mountains, Lysander. You need a quiet place right now, don’tyou?”

Lysander remained silent.

Half an hour later, the car pulled up at the entrance of a mountainside resort.

Unlike six months ago, when there was only one resort hotel here, construction sites had now startedcropping up not far away.

After parking his car, Josiah retrieved the lunch box from the back seat. He noticed her, engrossed inobserving the construction site nearby.

He explained. “I plan to expand this place into a vacation resort. Right next to the hotel, there will be achildren’s playground, and further inside, a retirement home for the elderly to reside.”

Lysander withdrew her gaze, taking steps toward the interior of the hotel.

These were all matters concerning the Guerra family. She had no business meddling, nor did she wantto.

Moreover, the term “children” pricked at her heart.

Upon reaching the reception, the uniformed lady behind the desk immediately recognized her. “Youare…

Josiah walked over to her and said, “Have the kitchen send over two servings of chicken broth as soonas possible.”

The receptionist nodded. “Of course, Mr. Guerra. I’ll get right on it.”

The young lady excitedly dialed the kitchen’s number.

Josiah led Lysander toward the elevator lobby.

As the elevator ascended, Lysander asked, “Her uniform seems to be slightly different from the others, doesn’t it?”

Indeed, I promoted her to the position of manager, he replied.

Lysander lightly pursed her lips.

The person Lysanne had declared she would fire, ironically, got promoted by him and became amanager.

“Are you deliberately going against Lysanne on purpose?”

“I simply wanted to make my feelings clear to you.”

“You used to be someone who clearly distinguished between personal and professional matters. Haveyou evaluated her work capabilities? What happened to the previous manager? Did you transfer ordemote him? Is she truly competent enough to manage such a large hotel?”

Lysander waved her hand dismissively. “It’s not that I dislike her. I just think your decision is completelyirrational, too impulsive.”

With a bitter smile, Josiah said. “Being rational isn’t always helpful. Sometimes, it’s better to act on youremotions. At least it makes you feel a bit better inside.”

The elevator came to a halt at the top floor.

Josiah was the first to step out of the elevator. Lysander asked him, “You didn’t take your room keyearlier.”

“There’s no need for a room key. I’ve already switched the top floor room to a fingerprint lock. It won’tbe open to the public anymore.”

He walked to the end of the corridor, stopping at the last room’s door. After scanning his fingerprint, hepromptly pushed the door open. “Come in.”

Lysander followed him inside.

Initially, it was assumed that the suite layout would be quite standard. However, upon entering, shediscovered this place didn’t resemble a hotel at all.

Instead, it seemed as if… it was their former marital home, that small apartment.

The interior, including the furniture and partitions, had all been redone.

“When you left before, you didn’t take anything with you. Some of your books and clothes… wereruined by Lysanne. I moved everything else here. I bought new clothes for you, and they’re all in thewardrobe. But there are a few professional books that I haven’t been able to find the same editions of.Apparently, they’re out of print.”novelbin

Lysander slowly made her way in, her hand gently caressing the bookshelf.

She picked this up at a flea market when she was in graduate school. It cost her ten bucks, boughtfrom a senior student. After she got married, she moved into an apartment and continued to use it.

Although the bookshelf wasn’t particularly at
