Chapter 379 His Business

“Perhaps the person who could truly captivate my heart hasn’t appeared yet.”

“Have you truly never had your heart moved, not even once?”

Lysander paused briefly, then nodded. “There was one time.”

“Who?”

“I forgot.”

Josiah said, “If you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine.”

“All right.”

Rina and Paulo’s wedding was carried out successfully.

Despite some minor unpleasant incidents, the party afterward was said to be quite lively and exciting.

However, all these were things Rina told her a few days later.

Rina was indeed a peculiar character. Even though it was her own wedding, she insisted on personallydelivering gifts.

Lysander gazed at the small, fluffy animal inside the cage, truly at a loss for Rina’s intentions.

Rina felt a bit embarrassed as she explained, “The thing is, I’m pregnant now, so I can’t take care of itanymore. I’m also not comfortable entrusting it to just anyone, so I’ve plucked up the courage to askyou could possibly take it in.”

Lysander asked, “Does your family object to you keeping it? During pregnancy, as long as you ensurethe pet isn’t carrying any toxoplasmosis and is properly vaccinated and dewormed, it won’t affect thebaby.”

if

“Oh, no. It’s not that. I just feel like I don’t have enough energy. After getting pregnant, I’ve beendealing with morning sickness and overall discomfort. This is a real, living little life, and I’m struggling totake care of myself, let alone this tiny being. Lysander, I’m begging you. It’s so small. I just can’t trustanyone else with it”

“So, you trust me, then?”

“You seem like a gentle soul,” Rina said, her hand holding onto Lysander’s. “A girl who could occupyAdrian’s thoughts for so many years must certainly be trustworthy.”

Lysander was at a loss for words.

Rina said, “Paulo is waiting for me outside, so I need to go. I’m leaving it in your hands now. I hope youtwo get along well.”

Rina then left, leaving Lysander alone in the house with the little white dog in the cage. They looked ateach other, each seemingly lost in their own thoughts.

Once the weekend was over, Lysander was occupied with adjusting to her new hospital and position. She was also in the process of house hunting and gradually packing up her things. However, the movewould have to wait a bit longer, at least until the weekend after next.

Lysander released it from the cage, and the little white dog seemed to be quite sociable. It first lickedher hand as a sign of affection, then promptly began to mark its territory around the living room, quicklyspreading its scent in preparation for settling in.

However, with the companionship of this little one, Lysander found life to be considerably moreinteresting.

She playfully poked its chubby little belly, but it didn’t get upset. Instead, it moved closer to her andbegan to lick her fingers.

Lysander gently patted its little head. “What a simp.”

“Are you talking about me?” Adrian asked.

Adrian had arrived at some point without notice. Lysander, holding the puppy, stood up and said, “I wastalking about the dog.”

Adrian walked over and gently patted the puppy on its head. “Quite adorable.”

The puppy seemed to be naturally sociable, wagging its tail non–stop while nestled in Lysander’s arms.

“Did you buy it?”novelbin

Lysander said, “It’s from Rina.”

“She sent it here?”

“Yes. She said she’s pregnant, so she could no longer keep it.”

Adrian didn’t say much about it, merely asking: “Do you want to keep it?”

“I’m about to move out and live on my own, which can be quite lonely. Having a small dog for companywouldn’t be too bad, would it?”

Adrian’s expression remained unchanged when he heard that she was moving out. However, the lightint his eyes noticeably dimmed. “Well, you might as well keep it. It can guard the house for you,” hesaid.

Lysander sighed helplessly and said, “Do I expect it to guard the house? Even if a thief showed up, itwould probably just flatter the thief.”

“Josiah has returned to his country.

A sudden remark broke into Lysander’s train of thought.

Adrian continued, “He left with Lysanne.”.

Lysander, holding the dog, went to the living room and said, “That’s his business. Why tell me about it?”
