Chapter 162

Chapter 162 Reunite With Her

Observing that Lysander remained unresponsive and continued her leisurely walk, Michelle hurriedlytook a few steps forward to catch up.

“Lysander, aren’t you going to ask me what Josiah said?”

Lysander simply said, “Don’t call him so affectionately from now on.”

“Then what should I call him?“.

“Mr. Guerra.”novelbin

“Okay…”

After some thought, Lysander said, “Forget it, you probably won’t meet him again in the future, so itdoesn’t really matter what you call him.”

Through Lysander’s mediation, the tensions between Maverick, Laura, and Michelle had somewhatsubsided.

When the results of the college entrance exams were released, Maverick and Laura were so overjoyedthey could hardly contain their smiles.

Maverick gazed at the college entrance exam scores displayed on the computer screen, his mustachetwitching in delight. “Well, what did I say? The daughters of the Thorne family are exceptional.”

Laura said with a smile, “What do you mean by the Thorne family? It’s because of my good genes too!”

Maverick was currently basking in the excitement of Michelle’s good grades. He didn’t pay muchattention to the minor details anymore. Stroking his beard and grinning, he said, “We can’t forget about

Zach’s contribution. He was the one who drove Mich to and from the cram school, and he also tutoredher on the problems she couldn’t solve. Zach is really a great benefactor to our family!”

Laura chimed in, “Yes, yes, yes, these past few months, Zach has been incredibly dedicated. Weshould find an opportunity to thank him.”

The opportunity swiftly arrived.

A few days later, it was time for Michelle to fill in the form for her preferred university. Camila made acall, inviting their family to the Powell residence for a meal, as she was celebrating her fiftieth birthday.

Good things seemed to come all at once. Lysander watched her younger sister, who spent her daysengrossed. in her phone, chatting with her boyfriend. Laura was constantly browsing online stores, picking out gifts for Camila and Zachary. Maverick, on the other hand, never missed an opportunity toboast about his two daughters who were on their way to prestigious schools. Seeing all this, Lysanderfelt a sense of relief in her heart.

Even Daphne noticed something different when she called her. “Why do I get the feeling that after youwent home, you seem to be walking on air?”

“Perhaps it’s because I left the sorrowful city of Harborbrook.”

“Fair enough. But I must remind you that the property you were interested in last time seems to begoing on sale next week. That property is quite popular now. You should be ready if you’re thinking ofbuying.”

The property that Lysander had taken a liking to was named Acalux Residence. It wasn’t exactly in thecity center, but its location was still pretty decent. What was more impressive was its proximity toHarborbrook University, and Central Hospital was just a ten–minute drive away.

Living near the esteemed Harborbrook University also implied being close to its affiliated kindergarten, elementary school, and high school. This was a highly coveted position in the competitive world ofschool district housing. If one were to have children in the future, they would have immediate access tothe best educational resources from birth, making this an extremely enticing prospect.

Most importantly, the residential area and their former matrimonial home were situated on oppositesides of Central Hospital, one to the south and the other to the north. Without making a deliberateeffort, they would never cross paths.

Daphne said, “What are you so afraid of? What’s the worst that could happen if you meet them? I doubtthe homewrecker would have the audacity to give you a hard time again.”

“It’s not that I’m afraid she’ll give me a hard time. I just simply don’t want to add to my own troubles.”

“If you don’t care about them, they won’t have the power to trouble you.”

“Daphne, it’s not them I care about.”

“Then what is it?” Daphne casually asked, then quickly realized what she had said and let out a heavysigh. “If you really love children that much, then find someone new and have a child of your own.”

In truth, Lysander wasn’t really keen on remarrying.

Before she became pregnant, she hadn’t really held much anticipation toward the idea of havingchildren.

It was just that over the past few days, she had been constantly thinking about the words Elisa utteredon her deathbed. The kid says she’s going to heaven to choose a new mother.

If I don’t get married or have children again, does that mean I may never see her again in this lifetime?

If possible, I wish to reunite with her.

Daphne said, “Wait here. I’ll go look it up for you.”

“What are you looking up?”

“Don’t ask just yet. Give me a few minutes.”

Roughly ten minutes later, a message from Daphne came through.

It was a screenshot.
