Chapter 122 Pink Or Blue

Lysander furrowed her brows.

She had thought that Harry would stir up some trouble first. Unexpectedly, the first to cause a scenewas her mother, Helen Brooks.

As soon as Lysander led Lynn into the ward, they could hear the voice of a middle–aged woman eventhrough. the closed window.

“If all else fails, why not offer the doctor a little gift? What problem can’t that solve? You are just tooyoung and inexperienced in the ways of the world. In this day and age, who would help you without alittle. incentive?”

A gift?

Lysander looked to Lynn for answers, but Lynn, utterly bewildered, could only shake her head inresponse.

Lysander cleared her throat subtly, then gently pushed open the door to the ward.

Upon entering, she saw Priscilla who was pale and hugging her blanket. She looked like a brokenpuppet, devoid of spirit. Only when she saw her come in did a faint glimmer of life return to her eyes.“Lysander.”

“Do you feel any better?”

The corners of Priscilla’s lips twitched slightly. “A little.”

“Oh, so you’re the doctor in charge of treating Priscilla, right?” Helen greeted warmly, eagerly grabbingLysander’s hand.

Her hand was slender and bony, but it held a surprising strength. Her grip was so tight that it causedLysander some discomfort.

This discomfort wasn’t merely due to pressure, however. It resembled more of a piercing sensationfrom a sharp object on the palm, resulting in intense pain.

She had something hidden in the palm of her hand.

It was a rectangular object and was somewhat thick

Lysander wanted to pull her hand away, but Helen gave her a mischievous smile. She placed her otherhand on top of Lysander’s, patting the back of her hand gently. “Doctor, there are some things we’d liketo understand.”

Lysander began to sense it

She laughed softly without any change in her expression, pulling her hand back with force. “Feel free toask anything you want to know as long as it’s something we can disclose. We’ll tell the expectantmother and her family truthfully.”

Helen chuckled. “Of course, of course. I’ve been setting up a nursery at home lately, but I can’t decideon the color of the bedding. Doctor, what do you think? Should I go for pink or blue?

Upon hearing that, Lynn immediately understood and swiftly gave Lysander a knowing look.

Chapter 122 Pink Or Blue

Having worked in the obstetrics and gynecology department for so many years, naturally, Lysanderunderstood as well.

“Any will do. The color doesn’t really matter. But it would be best if it’s pure cotton. It’s breathable andbetter for the child’s skin.”novelbin

Helen was initially taken aback, but then she chuckled knowingly. “As expected of Central Hospital, thedoctors here are truly exceptional.”

As she spoke, she pulled something from her pocket and rubbed it against the palm of her hand oncemore.

Although it was just paper, the increasing thickness made its edges all the more piercing against theskin, causing Lysander to wince in pain.

Helen held her tightly with both hands, her face already showing a hint of disdain and mockery. “Let meask you another question, then. Should we raise this child to be strong and assertive, or gentle andconsiderate?”

“It’s about balancing toughness and tenderness, but it also depends on the child’s own personality.”

“So, when I share the news with relatives, should I say we’re blessed with a precious son, or we’reblessed with a priceless daughter?”

Lynn couldn’t hold back anymore and interjected, “Just as long as you don’t say you’re blessed to be afather.”

Lysander looked back at her, a hint of annoyance in her eyes. Lynn, in response, lowered her gaze andplayfully stuck out her tongue.

Helen glanced at Lynn and let out a chuckle, “Oh, I see, there’s another person here. I should preparetwo portions, right?”

Lynn was clueless about what Lysander was pressing in the palm of her hand. She asked in asomewhat dazed manner, “Two portions?”
