Chapter 114 Her

Speaking of home, Lysander had devised a new plan.

Even though Daphne didn’t Lysander staying at her place, often, late-night calls would summon her tothe hospital, and it was impossible not to disturb Daphne.

Lysander had downloaded an app online to look for a room for rent.

Even if she were to buy a house, she would still have to wait for it to be handed over, then renovate it,and then let it air out. The whole process would take at least a year. During this year, she woulddefinitely need a place to stay.

Moreover, she had a premonition.

The matter with Harry and Priscilla was far from over.

Considering the history between Harry and Daphne during high school, and the fact that Harry wasnow the son-in-law of the hospital’s dean, coupled with her still working at the hospital, the intertwiningof these factors meant there was bound to be drama.

After Daphne arrived home in the evening, she pouted and folded her arms as she watched Lysanderpack her things. “I’ve told you,” she said, “I’m not bothered by your noise. I sleep like a log; not eventhunder could wake me up. Your little rustling won’t disturb my sleep at all.”

Lysander simply gave a smile, then continued packing up her things. “It’s not entirely about disturbingyour sleep.”

“What else could there be? You, a workaholic, barely spend any time at home. How could you possiblydisturb me?”

“You had me move in because you were worried about me, right? But as you can see, I’m fine,”Lysander said. “Besides, your place is a bit far from the hospital. I’d prefer to live somewhere closer. Incase of any emergencies, I’d be able to get there faster“

Daphne simply chuckled. “I knew it, it’s still about work.”

Lysander gently stroked her head. “The pressure of buying a house is immense, I haven’t even saved.enough for the down payment yet. I’ll also have to make monthly repayments in the future. This job isreally important to me.”

Having said that, Daphne finally felt somewhat relieved. “That’s true. It’s not a bad thing to dedicateyourself completely to your work. Your efforts will not be in vain. As long as you work hard, you’lldefinitely reap the rewards. By the way, you did a huge favor for Dr. Ziegler this time. It will undoubtedlybe beneficial for your future job evaluations and increment.”

Lysander nodded. “Yeah, that’s why I need to work even harder, strive for a promotion and a raise assoon as possible, so that I can live my best life!”novelbin

She didn’t have many possessions, so it didn’t take her long to pack up.

Over the weekend, Daphne helped Lysander move.

It sounded lilitadooof work, but in reality, it was just two boxes.

She had recentivored into a studio apartment. It was a one-bedroom, one-living room space that was alittle over focery quunre meters. It was more than enough for a single person to live comfortably.

The landltidy was

terrificent lady who was fairly easy to converse with. Lysander wasn’t

“Your wife is carrying your child and postcft herione in the hospital?”

“Her father is the hospital director since well taken care of there? Those ambitious doctors and nursessurely must have been bending over backward to cater to her, right?”

“True enough. that Lysander, your high scopot classmate, she saved your wife and child this time. Yourfather-in-law will surely promote her.”

“Her? Heh.”

Lysander grew intrigued as she listened on. Judgin your tone, there’s more to her story?”
