Chapter 244

“Nia, you’re shameless! If you want to put up a show, go ahead. No one will stop you. But why didyou have to talk about Mandy? Is it amusing for you?” Angel was furious. “This is a gathering, not aplace for you to show off your acting skills!”

“Hey! Why are you so angry? Could it be that you’re charmed by my Jamie? You can’t accept that Ihave such an excellent husband, so you’re jealous of me, aren’t you? Is that why you couldn’t holdyourself back and tried to find fault with me?” Nia said, grinning. She even leaned on Jamie onpurpose.

“You…” Angel was so angry that she trembled. She couldn’t even breathe properly.

Seeing that her best friend was being bullied, Mandy couldn’t hold herself back anymore. Shestrode forward and said slowly, “Nia, we’re classmates. Besides, today is a gathering. Why do youhave to say such things?”

Nia turned to Mandy with a faint smile “Mandy, are you upset with me? Is that why you asked yourdog to come and bite me? If that’s the case, why don’t you ask your live-in husband to come andperform for us? If he can play even a children’s song, I’ll take back what I said. I’ll even apologize toyour dog!”

“But let’s not ask your husband to play. I think it’s better if we ask him to go and play with cottoncandy…”

A roar of laughter resounded.

Everyone burst into amused titters. What Nia said was right. How could a live-in son-in-law knowhow to play the piano? What a preposterous joke! One couldn’t play a complete song on the pianowithout any professional training in their early days.

“Nia, don’t cross the line!” Mandy was trembling in anger. Nia had insulted her best friend, going sofar as to call Angel a dog. The woman was clearly overstepping her boundaries.

“Why? Are you mad? If you are, ask your live-in husband to perform for us. If you can’t, don’t actstubborn!” Nia was filled with contempt. “You even mentioned that your future husband must be acharming pianist! To hell with your wishful thinking!”

“You…” Mandy was so furious, she became speechless. Subconsciously, her gaze fell on Harveyand her eyes dulled. ‘How is it possible that my husband knows how to play the piano? I’ll definitelybe humiliated today.’

Harvey, who had kept quite all this while, stepped forward all of a sudden. He shielded Mandybehind him and said coldly, “Since when can one pretend to be a pianist by playing a recordedtrack?”

At first, Harvey was unbothered if Jamie wanted to put on a show. He could just let it be. Yet Niaand her husband acted recklessly and bullied Mandy. They were out of line.

“Live-in son-in-law! You’re just a kept man. What right do you have to speak here? My husband haslearned piano since young! He even passed the international examinations!” Nia’s expression took adrastic change and she screamed angrily at Harvey. “Don’t talk nonsense. You better take backwhat you said, or I won’t be so kind!”

The truth was, Jamie didn’t know how to play the piano. Nia was the one who thought of having himpretend to be a pianist. They had plotted about it for quite some time, going so far as to put a stereosystem under the piano so they could act when the critical moment comes.

Nia initially thought that her plan was flawless. She needed to make use of this act to put Mandydown. Unexpectedly, this worthless live-in son-in-law could see through it. How was that possible? This must be a coincidence!

“The way you play the piano is compatible with the music and sound. For example, there aredifferent ways of playing the long tone and the bass. All of the different techniques yield differenttypes of gestures and movements. Some of the movements are even quite difficult. That’s whymany expert international pianists have exaggerated movements when they play the piano. Someeven seem rather insane.”

Harvey narrated casually.

“Just now, your husband showed no changes in his movements when he played the piano. He evenpressed the keys in a random manner. For those who know nothing about music, they might thinkyour husband is elegant and exceptional. But for those who do, he’s a complete joke. That’s why, letme kindly give you a piece of advice. You better stop doing things like this in the future. It’s quitehumiliating.”

Seeing that Harvey sounded quite logical, the rest of the people in the hall couldn’t help but look ateach other helplessly. They felt that what Harvey said was quite logical.

Now that she was under doubt, Nia felt slightly nervous. She said swiftly, “F*ck! What do you know? You’re just a live-in son-in-law! My husband may not be an expert pianist, but how can you say hisplaying is fake? Look at us! What family do we belong to? Do we need to pretend about somethinglike this? Wouldn’t we just be looking for trouble?”Contents belong to NovelDrama.Org

“That’s right! Nia’s husband is so exceptional, and he’s noble too. It’s natural that he knows how toplay the piano, right?”

“Nia never boasts about the fact that her husband can play the piano. She doesn’t need to put on ashow like this!”

“This live-in son-in-law is so shabby and poor. How can he understand the arts? What a joke!”

“Ridiculous!”

In that instant, many began to condemn Harvey. ‘Just one glance can tell how disgusting this live-inson-in-law is. Yet, he has the guts to insult people? How humiliating!’
