Chapter 232

In actuality, Senior Zimmer was unwilling to allow Mandy to be in charge of the company’s finances.Doing so meant she would enjoy a powerful status among the Zimmers, to the extent she wouldinfluence Zack’s position in the family.

Yet at this moment, it seemed like they had run out of options. Should Mandy refuse to take theinitiative and resolve this mess, the Zimmers would teeter on the edge of bankruptcy.

“Grandpa, don’t trust her! How could she possibly solve a problem this huge? York Enterprise evenissued a legal letter to us! I’m afraid she might have conspired with York Enterprise beforehand. Shejust wants to use this opportunity to lie to us and gain an upper hand among the Zimmers!”

Zack was anxious. Before, he badly wanted to pin the blame on Mandy and make her takeresponsibility for the entire mess. Now, he was afraid if Senior Zimmer would truly agree to Mandy’srequest.

If ever Mandy was given the privilege to manage the finances, it would be extremely difficult forZack to turn things around within the family. He might even lose his status as heir.

“Mandy, how could you fool around with such a petty trick? In front of Grandpa, no less!” Quinn spatcoldly. “Do you think Grandpa is that gullible?”

“That’s right. If you really want control of the company’s finances, you should at least tell us howyou’ll solve this problem.” Sean couldn’t help but say. He too didn’t want to see Mandy be given theright to manage the finances.

Before Mandy could speak, they heard a soft voice. “It’s very simple. I’ll just give a call to Yvonne toresolve it.”

They looked around, and realized it was Harvey who spoke.

“Harvey, do you think you have the right to speak here? You think that you can settle all this justbecause you were Yvonne’s classmate? Do you have any idea how much four hundred fifty milliondollars is worth?” Zack gritted his teeth and glared at Harvey. “I don’t think you do. You always try toact smug and arrogant in front of me. Aren’t you afraid you’ll get punished for it?”

“Four hundred million dollars is not a small sum for York Enterprise, either. Yvonne is the secretaryof the CEO, but she certainly can’t decide for a major issue such as this.”

“Has this live-in son-in-law gone mad? Does he have any clue what four hundred fifty millionsdollars mean?”

“Everyone said he’s out of his mind. I don’t believe it before, but I do now!”

None of the Zimmers believed Harvey, including Senior Zimmer. This was a huge problem thatconcerned a sum of four hundred fifty million dollars. How was it possible for Harvey to resolveeverything with just a phone call? Who the hell was he?

Harvey felt helpless. It was rare for him to speak the truth, but no one believed him at all.

“Harvey, shut up! You have no right to speak here!” Senior Zimmer roared, dissatisfied. ‘This live-inson-in-law is going too far. Doesn’t he realize his status among the Zimmers is lower than a dog?He just won’t stop talking. Does he think that he’s some kind of big shot?’

If it weren’t for the fact they needed Mandy, Senior Zimmer would have long kicked Harvey out ofthe Zimmer household.Contents belong to NovelDrama.Org

Mandy frowned slightly and glanced at Harvey. She was unsure whether Harvey was joking ortelling the truth.

Still, they had reached a point of no return. Mandy took a deep breath and said, “Grandpa, you don’thave to worry how I’ll fix the problem. I’ll think of something. My only condition is I want full control

of the company’s finances once everything is solved. If I fail, I’ll compensate for the whole fourhundred fifty million dollars myself!”

Seeing that Mandy remained stubbornly persistent, Senior Zimmer’s breathing grew hitched.

Looking at this matter from a certain aspect, it didn’t matter whether Mandy could solve the problemor not.

Even if she failed, the Zimmers wouldn’t need to pay four hundred fifty million dollars. It waspossible for them to climb up the ranks again in the near future.

Were she to succeed, the Zimmers could regain York Enterprise’s trust and the investment could becontinued. The shopping centre project could proceed smoothly as well. Within a short amount oftime, the Zimmers could rise to become a top class family in Niumhi.

More importantly, outsiders who heard of this incident would recognize the Zimmers’ capability inhandling problems that came their way. This would certainly provide them a much higher anddistinguished status in Niumhi. No matter what angle he looked at, Mandy’s proposition brought noharm to the Zimmers, only benefits.

Thinking this, Senior Zimmer inhaled deeply. He gave the crowd a brief glance once, and thenslowly said, “Fine. I’ll give you my word in front of everyone today. If you are indeed able to solvethis problem, you will be the finance manager of the Zimmers’ company. But if you fail, you mustendure all of the consequences alone.”

At Senior Zimmer’s words, both Zack and Quinn exchanged glances. However, they didn’t dareraise any objections.

If Mandy truly had the ability to resolve that, then she earned the right to manage the finances. Butthe condition stands only if she was truly able.

Four hundred million dollars might not be too big a deal for York Enterprise. For the Zimmers, however, they couldn’t acquire such a large sum even if they bankrupted themselves.

‘Does Mandy really think she could fix this mess by herself? Is it just because her live-in husbandhappened to be Yvonne’s classmate? Ridiculous! She’s being foolish!’
