The Zimmers gathered around again. A lot of them looked at each other helplessly.
A while back, they received the news. So they did not even have their meals when they rushed home forthe meeting. At last, they heard that not only did the York Enterprise agree to invest in them, the YorkEnterprise even increased the amount of investment funds out of their own initiative.
They knew very well how the York Enterprise reacted the night before. Almost everyone heard thatclearly. They assumed that the task was impossible, but it was accomplished by Mandy now. Why?
Mandy was the daughter of the third son in the Zimmers. She was usually not favored. Besides, hercompany had suffered a significant loss. The Zimmers would soon disown her.
However, it turned out that she got the contract now. What if she was being favored then? Would Mandyfinally have her moment now?
Zack was the one who found it the hardest to believe what had happened. If Mandy was successful, itwould mean that he was useless.
“Mandy, you drafted a contract casually and said that you’d signed a deal with the York Enterprise. Youeven claimed that you’d gained an amount of fifty million dollars as the investment funds directly. Whoare you trying to fool here? I’m sure that you didn’t even manage to meet the CEO of York Enterprise.Am I right?” Zack said disdainfully.
“That’s right. I didn’t get to meet the CEO.”
Mandy had no intention to hide that. She indeed did not get to meet the CEO that afternoon. It wasYvonne who served her.
But after Mandy said that, everyone from the Zimmers looked at each other angrily. They had not evenhad their meals yet, but they were forced to go there and listen to Mandy’s nonsense.
“Mandy, you went too far! Your husband is a good-for-nothing who claimed that he’s the CEO. Youlearned from him, and you even made up a false contract and lied to us!”
“Do you think that we’re fools? How bold of you to take out a fake contract!”
“I think you’d better don’t go through with the divorce. Just pack up your luggage and get lost with yourlive-in husband!”
In that instant, every Zimmer was extremely wrathful. It was okay if Mandy failed to accomplish her task.But after making such a mess, what would happen to the Zimmers then?
What if the Zimmers were ruined then? Would they be unable to lead a luxurious and enjoyable life then?
Zack became much relaxed now. He looked at Mandy just like he was looking at a fool. He then said,“How could you use such a trick? It seems like you don’t respect the Zimmers well enough. Mandy, letme tell you. This is a serious affair. Our Zimmers don’t need a person like you who likes to make upthings and tell lies! You’d better get the h**l out of here!”
The other supported Zack and echoed what he said one after another. They said, “That’s true. You’dbetter get lost immediately. Bring along your live-in husband and leave. It’s indeed bad luck!”
However, Mandy was not angry. She broke into a smile and said, “As to whether the contract is real orfake, you were right. I indeed didn’t get to meet the new CEO of York Enterprise But I met the CEO’ssecretary. It was her who gave me this contract in person. The contract was even signed and sealed bythe York Enterprise.”
“I’m no fool, and I don’t think that I could resolve this issue with a lie. You scolded me now. So do youthink that grandpa can’t see clearly because of his age?”
Zack’s heart skipped a beat. His facial expression became extremely ugly.
It was indeed meaningless if she made up a fake contract, and it would infuriate Senior Zimmer.
‘Could it be that it’s true indeed? If it’s true, won’t I become a laughing stock now?’
“Mandy, if this contract is indeed real, tell us about it. How did you manage to negotiate such a deal andget the contract signed?” Zack gritted his teeth and said.
Mandy hesitated for a short while. She then said softly, “I… I didn’t do anything. After I went to the YorkEnterprise, Miss Xavier told me that our Zimmer’s shopping center project is quite good. Hence, theypromised to give us an amount of fifty million dollars as our investment funds directly. It’s twenty milliondollars more than what we’ve anticipated…”
An uproar was heard.
As soon as she said that, there was an uproar. Everyone started to discuss that.
“It turns out to be like this. So it meant that Mandy did nothing, and she got the contract signed directly.”novelbin
“Yes, that’s true. I thought that she was quite capable, but she was just lucky!”
Zack heaved a sigh of relief too. He then stood up and clapped his hands. He said, “Grandpa, I figure itout now. Their CEO scolded me, and he asked me to get lost yesterday. Maybe today, the CEO thoughtthat he went too far by doing that. He was guilty toward us, so they agreed to give us the investmentfunds!”
“So it means that no matter who went there today, they’ll be able to get the contract. If I didn’t make thatcall last night, maybe it would not be possible!”
Zack’s underlying meaning was quite simple. It was his contribution. If he did not make that call, Mandywould not have succeeded even if she went there that day.
“Zack! Don’t go too far!”‘ There was a trace of anger on Mandy’s beautiful face. ‘Zack was crossing theline. He forced me to go and negotiate a deal last night. Now that I’ve gained the contract, he stepsforward immediately to snatch away my credits.’
