Chapter 4247

Chapter 4247

Harvey’s head instantly felt numb. He didn’t dare reply.

"Hmph!"

Kairi scoffed after seeing the look on his face. She was utterly discontent, but then started to explainthe situation.

“This place has hundreds of years worth of history. In the past, it was considered to be the mostpopular place ever."

"When I was a child, I came here to have my fortune told as well.”

“It's a shame the current owner of the place, Reece Foley, wasn’t willing to follow in his family'sfootsteps and pursued science instead.”

“After his son died of an accident, he returned as a geomancy master since nobody else would takeover the position.”

“His geomancy arts are nothing compared to his ancestors, though. That was why he was declining.”

“Those who came during the recent years were all old customers living down the street.”

“They were here either because the place was close by, or to find out their auspicious days withoutburning a hole in their wallets.”

“Because of this, the Fortune Hall soon declined.”

“Ah, yes. Six months ago, Reece's only granddaughter, the ninth descendant of the Fortune Hall,Leona Foley, suddenly lost her vision and strength.”

"She was said to have the most potential to inherit the Fortune Hall, along with the family’s geomancyarts. With her talent, it’d be possible to regain the shop's previous glory.”

"Some of the wealthy families in Golden Sands were interested in her as well.”

“But as soon as she was about to finish her studies, she lost her eyesight. All the strength from herbody disappeared as well. When she checked her condition in the hospital, nothing showed up.”novelbin

"Some said it was the curse of their family, after they had leaked God’s plan for many years.”

“Reece tried using geomancy arts to fix her condition, but nothing worked.”

“He gave up completely after that."

“He planned to sell Fortune Hall and take Leona overseas for treatment.”

“He would give up everything just for her to get well again.”

Harvey nodded after hearing Kairi’s explanation.

He then studied his surroundings with narrowed eyes.

"This shop is in a pretty good spot. The environment and name of the shop are really nice, too.”

"We can use this as our shop.”

“That said, this is still the main city. It’s a peaceful place surrounded by a bustling environment. I’m sureit’s very expensive, right?”

Before Kairi could reply, a tired and miserable voice could be heard from behind them.

“I'll sell it for a hundred and fifty million dollars.”

Harvey and Kairi looked back, and saw an old man with a slightly unkempt beard. He seemedcompletely exhausted as he walked out with crossed arms.

An unimaginable sorrow could be felt in him, as if he had no way out of his misery.

If it wasn’t for his profound gaze, nobody would've believed him to be a geomancy expert.

“This is the expert, Reece Foley.”

Kairi introduced the man to Harvey, then smiled warmly.

“Master Foley, this is my good friend Harvey.
