Chapter 3838

Chapter 3838

Queenie knew exactly what Harvey liked. She had already arranged some vintage Black Tea for him toenjoy.

While the faint fragrance of tea spread in the air, Harvey went upstairs to take a shower. He felt veryrefreshed after changing into his sportswear.

Katy shot him a curious glance. After a while, she burst out laughing.

“If you keep running around me like that, I’ll take a bite out of you sooner or later!”

Harvey pouted after hearing those words.

“No way! I treat you like my sister, yet you’re trying to force yourself on me?”

“How dare you!”

“Tch!”

Katy scoffed.

“Everyone here wants a piece of me.”

“I’m not even interested in any of them, though. I only have you on my mind.”

“In any case…”

“You’ll be missing out when I change my mind!”

Harvey was speechless.

‘Why did she have to bring up such a sensitive topic…?‘novelbin

Right when the air became a little more heated, Katy’s phone rang again.

She frowned when she picked up the call; it was Lara again.

Lara kept pestering Katy non–stop; other than pestering her to show up to the dinner on time, she alsodemanded Katy to go alone and endure whatever necessary. 1

Lara said that Vance was being supported by the Blackburn City Martial Arts Alliance, so he was used tobeing a little lawless. No matter what, Katy wasn’t allowed to go against that man.

Katy, however, casually brushed off the warnings.

It didn’t matter whether it was Blackburn City or the South Sea Martial Arts Alliance; none of it wasenough to scare her off.

“Your friend’s pretty interesting, Katy,” Harvey said, looking curious.

“How is a simple middleman so intent on getting involved with your personal business? People who don’tknow might just think that she’s the actual creditor.”

Katy smiled.

“Lara’s the South Sea’s social butterfly; she has a lot of connections on both sides of the

underworld.”

“She needs to earn money this way. She’ll get hundreds and thousands of dollars if we manage to get adeal out of this business. It’s only natural for her to work this hard.”

“Are you close to her?” Harvey asked.

“No. The third house of the family introduced her to me.”

“They said that they want ten percent of the money if this goes through,” Katy said quietly, holding

her teacup.

“I thought that the second and third houses were trying to screw me over, but after investigating thesituation further, I can confirm that Lara is an actual mediator.”

“There shouldn’t be much of a fuss, then.”

“That said, Vance is quite problematic.”

“He’s the CEO of the Marina Bay Freight Company. There are rumors saying that he has goodconnections with the person in charge of the Blackburn Martial Arts Alliance, Rhett Padlow.”

“That said, I suspect that Rhett is the real boss of the company.”

“After all, the company takes up one–third of the pier’s logistics volume. It doesn’t seem like much, but itshouldn’t be a problem for the company to make hundreds and millions of dollars.”

“There’s no way Rhett would let an outsider make all this money. There’s a high probability that Vance isjust a front put up by him.”

“Simply put, it may seem like Vance wants us to pay the money back, but the real target is actually theBlackburn City Martial Arts Alliance.”

“This is a little troublesome…”

“Not really. As long as Vance keeps this a secret, we can just deal with the situation while pretending thatnone of this ever happened.”
