Anna fainted?
Jimmy's face turned pale, and he didn't even have time to say goodbye before rushing out of theoffice.
"Address." Jimmy asked loudly.
Upon hearing Jimmy's icy voice, Mr. Green's legs went weak with fear. It wasn't until Jimmyquestioned him again that he snapped back to reality and quickly gave him the hospital address.
Having lost his beloved once before, Jimmy felt as if all the blood in his body had frozen when heheard about Anna fainting. He was terrified and drove to the hospital at breakneck speed, headingstraight for the emergency room.
Mr. Green had been waiting outside all this time and was even more frightened when he saw Jimmyarrive. He couldn't help but feel guilty for not taking better care of Anna despite having repeatedlyreminded himself to do so.
"Mr. Harrison, Mrs. Harrison is inside."
There was a hint of nervousness in Mr. Green's voice.
With dangerous glints flashing in his deep eyes like waves on a stormy sea, Jimmy gritted his teethand asked, "What happened?"
Faced with such cruel eyes from Jimmy, Mr. Green dared not hide anything from him. "Mrs.Harrison suddenly fainted without any warning; we immediately called an ambulance after she fell
unconscious."
Suddenly fainting?
Jimmy furrowed his handsome eyebrows tightly together with concern as he stared at the door ofthe emergency room intently while clenching both hands tightly together as each second ticked bymade him more anxious than ever before.
Half an hour later, the door of emergency room opened, and a doctor walked out. Jimmyimmediately walked over. "How is my wife?"
The doctor smiled. "Congratulations, Mrs. Harrison is pregnant again, but due to somecomplications during her previous delivery, she needs plenty of rest now. She cannot exert herselftoo much or get too excited emotionally."
Although she already had Jay, because of what happened in the past, Jimmy never saw Jay's birthand missed several years of his childhood. This has become a regret in Jimmy's heart.
Although he always wanted another daughter, he was also heartbroken by Anna's pregnancy andthe pain of childbirth. So he kept this thought deep in her heart.
"Mr. Harrison, congratulations." Mr. Green's congratulations brought Jimmy out of his thoughts.
A few minutes later, Anna was pushed out of the emergency room and Jimmy watched over herbedside as she slept.
It wasn't until evening that Anna slowly opened her eyes and when she saw the hospitalsurroundings again, her eyebrows furrowed tightly together.
Why am I back at the hospital?
"Awake?"
Jimmy's low voice sounded slowly beside her ear as he sat by her bed with a gentle expression onhis face.
Looking at him like this made Anna stick out her tongue.
"I don't know why I fainted; maybe... maybe it was because I didn't eat enough breakfast so I didn'thave any energy left. But I promise you that from now on I'll eat more."
Afraid that Jimmy would blame herself for what happened, Anna quickly reassured him.
Jimmy gently stroked her pale little face and said softly, "I'm sorry; it's my fault for not taking bettercare of you."novelbin
His sudden apology confused Anna but then quickly grabbed onto Jimmy's hand.
"What is wrong with you? Why are you apologizing? Do... do I have cancer or something?"
Anna joked around but before long Jimmy replied sternly, "Don't talk nonsense."
Anna stuck out her tongue again, playfully saying, "Yes, Mr. Harrison. I won't talk nonsenseanymore, but... I really don't like smelling the smell of disinfectant here. Could you fill out dischargepapers for me?"
She looked up at him with an adorable pout, hoping he would agree to take her home, butsurprisingly he refused without hesitation, making Anna unhappy as ever before.
"If you don't give me a satisfactory reason, I... I'll do up the discharge papers myself," Anna saidfirmly, with no hint of joking.
Jimmy placed his hands lightly on her stomach, leaving Anna confused.
"Jay's wish has been granted," Jimmy said excitedly as he looked up at Anna.
Jay's wish? Anna was puzzled. Which one?
"Jimmy, explain to me clearly why you're refusing to let me leave the hospital," she demanded.
Jimmy hugged her tightly. "Thank you, my wife."
Anna was getting more confused by the minute but could feel Jimmy's excitement building up insidehim.
"Jay has a little sister now. I have a daughter," Jimmy whispered gently in her ear with an excitedsmile on his handsome face.
"What... what?" Anna asked incredulously.
"It's true! You're pregnant again! I didn't get to see Jay being born but this time around it's mychance to witness our child being born and be there for every step of the way with you." Jimmy heldAnna's small face in his hands and spoke passionately.
I'm pregnant again! No wonder I have been feeling nauseous lately but I haven't even realized itmyself.
Anna scolded herself for not noticing earlier after she gave birth one before.
How could she be so careless?
"Is our baby okay?" The memory of fainting flashed through her mind as fear crept into her voice;afraid that something might have happened because of her carelessness towards their unbornchild.
"Don't worry, our baby is healthy but your body is too weak right now so the doctor advised that youshould rest in bed. I've spoken with Mr. Green about your work situation, so don't worry about goingback anytime soon."
Anna breathed out a sigh of relief upon hearing that their baby was fine. "I love working, but for ourbaby's sake, I'll resign from work," said Anna making up her mind.
Anna's decision made Jimmy breathe a sigh of relief.
He had been considering how to persuade his stubborn wife to quit her job, but unexpectedly sheoffered to quit herself.
"I gave birth once before, but... but when I was rescued by the elderly couple, I spent most of mytime in the hospital. So Jay's birth truly felt like another test of life and death. This time, I want tomake sure to remember every step of our baby's growth." Anna gently caressed her stomach, aloving smile on her pale face.
"I'll be there with you every step of the way," Jimmy promised with a happy grin on his handsomeface.
