Chapter 854 I Don't Want to Go to Jail

Mrs. Miller pulled Anna aside when she saw Jimmy not far away.

"Anna, who is that man? He looks like he's rich. Can you borrow money from him? We can pay himback when we have the money," Mrs. Miller whispered in Anna's ear.

"No way," Anna replied without hesitation, refusing her mother's proposal.

She couldn't imagine how she would ask Jimmy for money.

"What are we going to do then? Are you going to let your father die? Your father loves you the mostand if you don't find a solution, it will be all for nothing," Mrs. Miller continued to pressure Anna.

Just as Anna was hesitating, Jimmy walked up to them.

"I've arranged for the doctor to prepare for surgery tomorrow morning and remove the tumor in hisbrain," Jimmy said in a low voice.

Mrs. Miller looked shocked and kept looking between Anna and Jimmy with disbelief written on herface.

"Anna, is he your boyfriend?" Mrs. Miller asked with curiosity in her voice but Anna immediatelyshook her head.

"If he isn't your boyfriend, then why would he pay for your father's medical expenses? Are you... areyou..." Mrs. Miller trailed off.

Anna had read her mother's mind and looked helpless.

"I'm your daughter and I never thought about selling myself out. He... he is my boss." Afterhesitating briefly, Anna talked about their relationship.

"Just your boss?" Mrs. Miller questioned with confusion etched on her face but before she could askmore questions, two police officers approached them

"We understand the situation but we need both of you to come down to the station and give usdetailed statements." One of the officers stated matter-of-factly

Mrs. Miller knew that her son couldn't escape being caught so despite loving him unconditionallyfear filled every inch of herself at this moment.

"Officer, will my son be sentenced?" She asked anxiously

"The court will convict based on his circumstances." The officer replied, causing Mrs. Miller'scomplexion turn pale.

Anna didn't care about Gavyn's fate. After all, he was a brother who wanted to sell her to pay off hisdebts. Did he really deserve her sympathy?

"Anna, you must not let your elder brother go to jail, otherwise his life will be ruined. You... you mustsave him."

Mrs. Miller's request left a bitter smile on Anna's lips.

"You seem to have forgotten how he treated me. Besides, the police are involved and I... can't savehim," Anna said expressionlessly.

Under the urging of the police, she came to Jimmy and took a deep breath. Her eyes, as clear asspring water, fell upon him.

"Can ... you take care of my dad for me? I'll come back as soon as I can after recording mystatement."

There was a strong plea in Anna's stunningly beautiful eyes.

At this moment, besides saving Jimmy, she didn't know who to ask for help.

Jimmy opened his sexy lips and said slowly, "I've arranged for a nurse to go to the hospital roomand take care of your father, I'll send you to the police station."

Anna hesitated for a moment, but eventually agreed to Jimmy's proposal.

She carefully supported her mother, whose legs were weak, and walked out of the hospital.

Mrs. Miller was surprised when she saw Jimmy's global limited edition sports car.

"Anna, you... you need to get this man." Mrs. Miller whispered in Anna's ear.

Anna was rendered speechless as she saw the gleam of greed in her mother's eyes.

After helping Mrs. Miller into the car, Anna sat beside her until...

"Reduce swelling," Jimmy said in a low and cold voice.

At the sight of Anna's visibly red and swollen cheeks, he felt the urge to send the man who'd hit herinto hell.

When Anna saw the ice cube in her hand, her star-like eyes sparkled with light.

Perhaps he was not as much of a bastard as she imagined him to be.

"Thank you," Anna whispered as she gently placed the ice cube on her swollen cheek.

When she came to the police station, Anna realized that those loan sharks had done things thatwere really cruel, abducting and selling young girls, beating people up and seriously injuring them, and every one of them was heartbreaking.

Although Anna doesn't have much knowledge of the law, she is certain that Waylon and his gangwill receive a severe sentence.

Serves you right.

"Mom, save me, I don't want to go to jail," cried Mrs. Miller's son, Gavyn.

Mrs. Miller felt heartbroken seeing her son in tears.

"Anna, you have to help me. I'm your brother; you can't just leave me here. Please think of a way forme to get out of this place," Gavyn pleaded with Anna when he saw her.

"Anna, I never kidnapped any girls or caused anyone serious injury. You have to believe yourbrother," Gavyn said quickly as he was afraid Anna would ignore him completely.

Despite everything that had happened between them, Anna still had a soft spot for her older brotherand couldn't bear seeing him in pain like this. Plus, Mrs. Miller kept begging Anna for help on theside which made it even harder for Anna to decide what she should do next.

"Anna, your brother knows he was wrong; please forgive him this time around and help him out ofhere."

Gavyn saw hope in his sister's eyes when she began showing signs of wavering under his pleasand apologies.

The police took Gavyn away while Mrs. Miller wept uncontrollably.

"Anna! Go beg that man over there! The chief is talking with him right now! You must go ask him forhelp!"

Mrs. Miller whispered furiously at her daughter who seemed unmoved by the situation unfoldingbefore their eyes.

"Your brother is the only son we have left in our family! How will he survive if he goes to jail? Yourfather will be so angry if he finds out!"

Knowing Anna cared so much about Mr. Miller, Mrs. Miller used him as a chip to negotiate withAnna.

Under pressure from her mother, Anna dragged her heavy feet to Jimmy.

Jimmy's eyes fell on Anna's face which had become less swollen.

"Thank you for taking my mom and me here."novelbin

Anna had difficulty in proposing that request, so she could only awkwardly look at Jimmy.

Jimmy nodded and walked towards the police station entrance.

"Anna, do you really want to piss me off! Go chase after him."

Seeing her daughter stand motionlessly, Mrs. Miller felt really furious.
