Chapter 780 Successful Rescue

Half an hour later, the car stopped outside the palace and Louis walked quickly towards Mr. Berger'schamber.

On the other side, Alain received the message and headed towards Mr. Berger's room.

When Alain arrived at Ansi's chamber, Louis had not yet arrived.

Soon after, he saw Louis walking over to him and stopping in front of him.

Louis lowered his head and said, "King Ducasse."

"How is everything?" Alain asked with concern as his eyes darkened.

Louis opened his lips lightly and explained in a soft voice, "The child has been saved. The doctorsays she needs to rest."

"I'll go with you to see Mr. Berger," said Alain who knew about Mr. Berger's eccentricities but didn'tsay anything because he was loyal to the royal family.

Louis nodded silently and said in a low voice, "King Ducasse, thank you."

"Louis, we grew up together since childhood; there is no need for such formalities," replied Alain ashe lowered his gaze while a flash of darkness passed through it before turning around into Mr.Berger's chamber.

The person whom he liked already liked someone else now; she was now his sister-in-law but hestill liked her deep down inside.

He couldn't spend this lifetime with his beloved woman but didn't want his brother to have the sameexperience.

Soon, they reached into Mr. Berger's courtyard.

When Alain found Mr. Berger preparing medicine ingredients, he respectfully addressed him, "Mr.Berger."

Without stopping what he was doing on hearing King Ducassee's polite tone, Mr. Berger only askedcuriously, "Why did you come here?"

"Mr. Berger, I came here looking for you regarding Louis' matter."Alain paused briefly beforecontinuing respectfully, "This time I hope you can help Louis."

Mr. Berger heard King Ducassee's courteous tone and glanced sideways at Louis.

These two boys got along pretty well, which was rare. However, that was not a reason for him tointervene.

Mr. Berger thought to himself as he continued to sort his medicinal herbs.

"Sorry, Count Caesar, I may not be able to help you."

Louis frowned slightly and stepped forward. He spoke in a deep voice, "The doctor from Odonstinfound a rare substance in the little girl's blood that even the lab couldn't detect."

"In this world, there are many things that cannot be detected. It's normal," Mr. Berger calmly repliedwithout showing any interest in Louis' words.

Although he enjoyed challenging various medical problems, it wasn't enough reason for him to treatsomeone.

He knew Louis deliberately said this just so he could intervene but Mr. Berger liked doing thingsdifferently than expected.

Mr. Berger's calmness caught Louis' attention and caused him to furrow his brows slightly.

He pursed his lips and opened them again, "Mr. Berger, don't you want to know what that raresubstance is?"

"I've lived half my life; what haven't I seen?" Mr. Berger put down the tools in his hand and looked atLouis quietly.

When asking for help from others, one should have an attitude of humility rather than arrogance.

Louis quickly understood Mr. Berger's meaning. He lowered his gaze and said solemnly, "Mr. Bergerplease help me save the child."

Alain standing beside them was surprised by Louis' request but quickly understood it was becauseof love.

Alain hoped that five years of tormenting Louis would finally lead him towards happiness with Jane.

After giving Louis a brief glance, Mr. Berger withdrew his gaze back onto sorting out medicinalherbs once more.

Suddenly he wanted to know who would harm an innocent child? Someone like Louis who heldpower over Z Country personally coming here meant the child's condition was difficult.

But who could be so heartless as to harm such a young child?

After remaining silent for some time, Mr. Berger asked without basis:

"How old is this little girl?"

"She's just over four years old."

Louis hesitated for a moment before responding to Mr. Berger's sudden question, not understandingwhat he meant.

Alain, who was standing nearby, was the first to react and stepped closer to Louis, nodding his headand saying in a low voice, "Mr. Berger is willing to help."

Louis was taken aback and turned his head slightly towards the man standing beside him, lookingstunned for a moment.

The next second, he turned back to Mr. Berger and quickly explained Vivian's situation.

"The little girl is over four years old and has congenital heart disease. She was kidnapped by Tristanbefore, but when she came back, it was discovered that there were special substances in herblood."

"But Odonstin's doctors couldn't detect it. They don't know what special substance is in her blood."

Louis paused here without saying anything more.

Mr. Berger stopped moving for a moment, then asked seriously, "Has there been any recentabnormality?"

Louis frowned suddenly as he remembered Vivian's illness this morning.

That should be considered an abnormality because if it weren't for the special substance in herblood, Vivian's illness might not have become so serious.

He tightened his hand at his side and logically recounted what happened earlier this morning.

"This morning, the child had difficulty breathing, so the doctor had to perform emergency treatmenton her."

"After successful treatment, the doctor said that the child needed rest and couldn't get too excitedemotionally again or else next time she might not be so lucky."

When Mr. Berger heard this news, he stopped moving again with coldness creeping into his voiceas he spoke, "Tristan actually used forbidden alchemy?"

"Forbidden alchemy?"

Louis furrowed his brow while exchanging glances with King Ducasse who stood beside him; bothof them could see deep concern reflected within each other's eyes.

They shouldn't have gone easy on Tristan or else they wouldn't have let him leave with forbiddenalchemy like that.

The next second, Mr. Berger's voice interrupted their thoughts. "This forbidden alchemy hasdisappeared for a long time."

"You guys go back first; I need three days' preparation."

Upon hearing this, Louis' gaze darkened slightly as he nodded towards Mr. Berger, "Thank you verymuch."novelbin

Mr. Berger glanced briefly at both of them before turning around and heading back into the room.

He never thought Tristan would use forbidden alchemy.

What's even more frightening is that such methods were used against a four-year-old girl.

It's truly terrifying because if Louis had come just few days later, then perhaps there would be nohope left for little Vivian anymore!

"What can a little girl do? Why should she be affected by the grievances of adults?" Mr. Bergersighed heavily as he shuffled into the room.

He hadn't seen that forbidden alchemy in years. It seemed like he needed to brush up on hisancient texts.
