Connor looked at the unfamiliar number on his phone, a puzzled expression appearing on his face.
After all, it was already midnight, who would call at this time?

“What is it?” Connor asked softly.
“It’s like this, Mr. Connor . 1 remember 1 mentioned to you before that my granddaughter will be havinga birthday party in a few days. 1 hope you can come and grace us with your presence. Do you stillremember this?” Luke asked softly.
“I remember that. When is your granddaughter’s birthday party?” Connor didn’t want to owe him anymore favors, so he asked directly.
“It’s the day after tomorrow…” Luke replied.
“The day after tomorrow?” Connor’s eyes flashed with a hint of helplessness because he knew that hewould be in class on that day.
“What’s wrong? Mr. Connor , is it inconvenient for you?” Luke hurriedly asked when he noticedConnor’s tone wasn’t right.
“Two days from now is fine. Where is it?” Connor said helplessly.
“Seven o’clock in the evening, in Borealis City next to Porthampton,” Luke said.

Initially, he had thought that Luke’s granddaughter’s birthday party would be held in Porthampton.Although he had classes that day, he could have waited until after class to attend.

“That’s great! If you don’t have anything else, I won’t disturb your rest, Mr. Connor!” Luke exclaimedhappily and quickly hung up the phone.
Connor slowly put down his phone, his expression filled with helplessness.
Because he knew that if he wanted to attend Luke’s granddaughter’s birthday party, he would have toask Rachel for a leave.
Whenever he thought of her, he felt a headache.
But now he owed Luke a favor, and Luke hadn’t made any unreasonable demands. He just wantedConnor to attend the birthday party, and he even extended a polite invitation. So Connor naturallycouldn’t refuse.
