In the study, Rolando was calmly going through the reports delivered by his officials. Miguel entered theroom and sat down beside him. Playing with the folding fan in his hand, he looked at the emperor withgreat interest. But Rolando was so absorbed in reading that he completely ignored the uninvited visitor.
"Your Majesty, I heard that Lady Harper almost forced herself on you the day before yesterday. Is thattrue?"
Rolando abruptly stopped writing for a few seconds. Yet, he soon continued to read the reports andwrote more vigorously. Miguel noticed that there was something wrong with the emperor's expression."Your Majesty, I've always thought that you're fond of Lady Harper. I didn't expect you to be indifferentto her."
"Miguel, you are being too talkative!" Rolando frowned a little.
"Your Majesty, I'm just curious. Don't you like Lady Harper?"
Scowling at the visitor, Rolando seriously exclaimed, "Miguel! You'd better shut up and leave if youdon't want me to punish you."
"Your Majesty, then please release Lady Lilian. After all, she's pregnant. It's not a good environment forher to take care of the baby," Miguel pleaded at once.
"What I should do is none of your business. Have you found Matthew?" Rolando nonchalantly said.
"We didn't find him. I've searched the entire Imperial Capital since he escaped yesterday, but still, Icouldn't find him anywhere. He seems to have disappeared into thin air." Miguel paused after thinkingabout what he should say next. After a while, he continued, "Your Majesty, are you really going tocancel the grand ceremony to bestow Lady Lilian the position of your empress?"novelbin
"You think I am joking about that?"
"Your Majesty, the envoys of the Bright Dynasty will be here soon. If they find out that you canceled thegrand ceremony..."
"I'm not even afraid of Matthew. How could I be afraid of several envoys?" Rolando calmly proclaimed."Miguel, why do I feel like you're recently becoming more and more sentimental and soft-hearted?"
Miguel opened the fan and used it to cool his face. "Your Majesty, it's not that I'm being soft-hearted,but you — You have always been so soft-hearted to Lady Harper."
Rolando narrowed his eyes and snapped, "You'd better not cross the line, Miguel, or I won't be polite toyou."
Miguel's heart missed a beat. He held his breath and said, "Your Majesty, you gave the Heavenly Bookto Lady Harper so easily. Aren't you afraid that she'll leave with the book?"
"I know her better than you do," Rolando said coldly. Harper valued the "friendship" between him andher. He knew how much Matthew had been on guard against him, but she didn't take any precautionswhen interacting with him. It was not because of his harmless appearance, but because he had savedher twice. If she didn't take their long-term friendship into consideration, she would have already left thecity. Rolando was quite certain that he understood her personality really well.
"Your Majesty, since that's what you think about the current situation, then I won't ask it anymore. Bythe way, there is still a Heavenly Book which is in Matthew's hands. Since we cannot find him, it will bevery difficult to get the book."
"Don't worry. Harper will get the last book for me," Rolando firmly said. More than anyone, Harperwanted to know about the hidden contents on the blank part of Rolando's Heavenly Book. So there wasno doubt that she would acquire the last book so she could study the contents. Even though Matthewcould refuse anyone, he couldn't refuse his wife Harper.
All of a sudden, Miguel understood why Rolando gave the Heavenly Book to Harper. All this time, hehad been assuming that his emperor had romantic affections for Harper, but it was just a cover-up.Rolando was still the same person he knew before who would play any trick to achieve his goals!

As an emperor,he should be the one to continue trying his best to reach his goals with any means possible. However,he felt uneasy about the emperor's attitude.

"Your Majesty, excuse me for leaving." Miguel cupped his hands and left. As soon as he got out of thestudy, the expression on his face darkened instantly. If Harper got the last book and was trapped in theHarmony Palace, it would be hard for her to get out of the emperor's hands. He had thought theemperor would treat Harper in a different way, but it seemed like he still chose his kingdom over thewoman he loved. Indeed, the emperor was quite qualified for the position!
"Prime Minister Miguel." A eunuch bowed to him.
"Arise." As Miguel walked forward, the eunuch followed behind and whispered, "Lady Lilian is in a verybad condition. Although His Majesty hasn't changed her treatment after she has been under housearrest, she has lost her temper and won't even eat or drink. She's a pregnant woman. Miguel stopped walking. Then he turned around and headed for the Bliss Palace. He knew that Lilianwas unaware of her current situation and kept on triggering the limits of the emperor. Out of confusion, the eunuch asked, "Prime Minister Miguel, are you going to visit Lady Lilian? But HisMajesty has ordered that no one is allowed to enter the Bliss Palace."
"Don't worry. They're going to let me in," Miguel nonchalantly said. He had made a mistake before.Now, he had to make more mistakes to amend the first one. He wasn't as tough as iron like theemperor and couldn't be so calm and unmoved in the face of the woman he loved. If he were theemperor, he wouldn't be a good one. So Rolando stood out from every prince and became theemperor.
