Chater 934

\Chapter 934

The doctor went through how they treated Estelle, then said, “This gal’s got a hell of a will to live, and

luckily, the knife didn’t hit any vital organs, so she made it.

But.”

Jonathan paused, “But what?”

Dr. Rowland frowned, “The toxins damaged her nerves, causing her to lose her sight.”

Jonathan jerked his head up, his eyes bloodshot. He stared at the doctor in disbelief, “She’s blind?”

“Yes.” Dr. Rowland said.

It felt like Jonathan had been punched in the gut. He was completely lost, his heart aching and numb all

at once.

He didn’t lift his head, just croaked out, “Show Dr. Rowland out.”

Millard’s brow furrowed. He hadn’t expected Estelle to be the one attacked that day, let alone that she’d

be blind. He could hardly bear to look at his boss. Millard had someone bring the money they’d

prepared for Dr. Rowland and said in a deep voice, “Dr. Rowland, please leave. There’s a car waiting to

take you.”

Soon, Jonathan was alone in the room, his eyes filled with regret. He wished he could just stab himself

to end the intense pain.

He didn’t dare think of how she looked covered in blood or how she survived such a tough situation.

And he’d watched as she was attacked!

Now she was blind. That night, when she called him, she’d just come back from the brink of death,

blindly dialing his number.

What had he said then? He’d told her to leave and never to show her face to him again!

Jonathan felt he might never forgive himself for that.

Millard had someone check Estelle’s travel records. The reply came quickly. Millard walked into the

room and saw Jonathan’s heavy figure; he couldn’t bear to tell him that Estelle had already left Cnovelbin

Country.

An hour later, Jonathan was sitting on the balcony of the Royal Mansion.

The large glass window in front of him reflected the city lights. The hustle and bustle of the city

remained the same. Behind him was endless darkness, like a beast ready to swallow him up.

How did he lose Estelle step by step?

From the moment Yvonne let him hear that recording and see the picture of her and Jason, his doubts

and disgust towards Estelle took root between them. Maybe from the moment he sneered at marriage,

the end was already set.

Estelle asked him time and again if he would marry her. She just wanted assurance that he wouldn’t be

angry about her hiding her identity, so she could tell him everything without hesitation. She saw his

hesitance, so she didn’t dare to speak out.

It was all too late; he found out everything too late!

His chest hurt until it was numb, like his heart had been drained of blood. The dry, tom feeling was

tearing at his every nerve. He thought back to years ago. Now he felt like he was back in that collapsed

basement, surrounded by darkness, cold and hunger leading to despair.

And this time, he was alone.

No problem, if her future was just darkness, he would stay in that dark basement, always by her side!

Two years later.

In a supermarket in J City.

“Estelle!”
