Chater 890

Chapter 890

“Are you kidding? With her skills, she’s the one who usually leaves people in a mess!”

“Good. The three of us must have a catch-up session. It’s been ages. We last met after the movie

wrapped!”

“Sure!” Gwen agreed cheerfully, “You’re buying!”

“Ha!” Craig scoffed, “I wouldn’t dream of you picking up the tab. I’ll pay. You choose the place.”

“Deal!”

Craig called Estelle again. They all fancied some BBQ, but Xavier’s place was way out in Movie

Center, so they opted for a closer grill house.

As soon as they saw each other, Gwen gave Estelle a big hug, “I’ve missed you, Estelle!”

Estelle smiled gently, “We’re all in J City; we could meet up like this anytime.”novelbin

“Right!” Craig pulled Gwen to sit down, “Quit the drama. Let’s order first, then we can catch up.”

Gwen grabbed the menu, ordering Estelle’s favorite meat and some desserts. She looked up and

asked, “Shall we have some drinks? We can book a designated driver afterward.”

I’m taking it easy. You two can drink if you want!” Craig responded heartily.

Gwen ordered a bottle of beer.

They chatted while eating.

Craig first asked Estelle about the video incident, and Estelle briefly recounted the event.

“You weren’t hurt, were you?” Gwen asked worriedly.

“No, I wasn’t.”

“Good, those jerks deserved what they got. Lucky you know how to handle yourself, who knows what

would happen to other girls?”

Gwen was annoyed, “Even if Estelle didn’t know martial arts, she shouldn’t be taken advantage of. You

think Mr. Lamont is a pushover?”

Craig suddenly remembered when Jonathan tricked Estelle into going on a business trip. He probed,

“Estelle, you and Mr. Lamont were pretty close, right?”

Gwen paused mid-bite and looked at Estelle.

Estelle poured herself a glass of beer, “We broke up.”

“What?” Gwen dropped the piece of meat she was eating onto the table.

Craig frowned, “What happened?”

“We didn’t want to be together anymore. No one’s to blame.” Estelle took a small sip of her beer.

The atmosphere grew quiet for a moment, and no one spoke. Gwen felt a mix of emotions. She was

happy but felt guilty for being happy at the expense of Estelle, so she didn’t dare to look at her.

Craig tried to comfort Estelle, “It’s normal for couples to fight and have conflicts. I had a girlfriend I

fought with often. We would make up afterward and our bond would grow stronger.”

Gwen suddenly interjected, “If the bond got stronger the more you fought, why did you break up in the

end?”

Craig glared at Gwen to stop her from talking nonsense.

Gwen sighed, “Estelle, to be honest, were you always on edge when you were with Mr. Lamont?

Breaking up might have been for the best. People like him are out of our league.”

Craig scolded Gwen under his breath, “What are you trying to say?”

“Did I lie? Are you suggesting that Estelle should beg Mr. Lamont to get back together? If so, she would

only be looked down upon even more! We are Estelle’s friends; we don’t need to sugarcoat anything!”

“I’m not saying she should beg!” Craig didn’t know how to explain, “Isn’t it a pity that the relationship

just ended like that?”

He thought Jonathan and Estelle had feelings for each other because Jonathan used to spoil her so

much!

“So what do you want Estelle to do? Beg Mr. Lamont to get back together?” Gwen scoffed, “Modern

women can break up, but they can’t lose their dignity!
