Chapter 802

J City

On that day of the Chinese New Year, the dessert shop started doing business. Because it was still the

holiday season, the shop was busy every day, and Amiee often had to work until ten o’clock at night bef

ore she could go home.

That night, she got home at eleven. Opening the door, she found the lights of the dining room and

kitchen were still on

Amiee took off her coat and went over,

only to find Josiah cooking in the kitchen. He was wearing a pure white sweater, with a crew cut, lookin

g neat and a bit of a rebel.

Hearing Amiee back, Josiah kept

chopping vegetables with his back to her, not even lifting his head, just focusing on his own work.

She stood at the door for a while, then turned around to change her clothes in her room.

After taking a shower, Amiee put on a simple set of home clothes. When she came out, the late–

night snack was already on the table, and Josiah had left.

A cup of hot milk, a bowl of shrimp and egg soup, a vegetable pancake, filled with the vegetables she li

Amiee had been busy all

day and only had a few pieces of dessert for dinner. She was indeed hungry now. She sat at the dinner

table and finished all the late–night snacks by herself.

For the next few days, no matter how late Amiee came back, Josiah would prepare her late-

night snacks. Sometimes he would even wait for her to finish eating and clean up the kitchen before lea

ving.

They didn’t talk to each other. If Josiah didn’t leave, he’d sit on the couch playing video

games, waiting for Amiee to finish eating.

Until this day, Amiee came back early and saw Josiah standing outside the door as soon as

she came out of the elevator,

Josiah’s expression wasn’t looking good. He looked at her and said, “Did you change the door code?”

“Yep!” Amiee didn’t change her expression, “Don’t come here anymore”

“Why?” Josiah asked.

“We’ve got nothing to do with each other anymore, so you don’t need to take care of me!” Amice opene

d the door, didn’t even look at Josiah outside the door, and closed the door behind her.

Just as the door was about to close, Josiah suddenly stretched out his arm to

hold the wooden door, his eyes were red, staring at Amiee.

Amiee looked up, “Let go!”

Josiah said, “No!”

Amiee frowned, “If you don’t let go, I will call the police!”

“Go ahead, I’ve got something to tell the police too!” Josiah said defiantly

“What are you going to say?”

I’m going to tell the police that you slept with me and you’re not taking responsibility!”

Amiee took a deep breath, “The police don’t care about this!”

“Do your parents care? Josiah said huffily,

Josiah Amiee was speechless and

frustrated, “We’re not kids, what’s the point of involving parents! That day, we were both willing, I didn’t

force you!”

“So adults don’t have to take responsibility for their actions?”

He sounded resentful, it was you who initiated it. You can’t just break up with someone after leading

them on, why?”

Amiee looked at him, “We were never together

“What is being together?” Josiah’s eyes were red, he gritted his teeth and said. “We kissed, we

slept together, our parents both approved! If this isn’t being together, what does it mean to be

together?”

Amiee felt confused by his gaze and couldn’t help but look away, “So how do you want me to take resp

onsibility?”

Josiah closed his eyes for a moment, “Let’s make up. You let me kiss you, and I’ll let you rest properly!”

Amiee narrowed her eyes, “Josiah, are you drunk?”

“No, I didn’t drink a drop!” Josiah fully opened the door, walked up to her, his eyes becoming more dete

rmined. “Amiee, lets start dating!
