Chapter 727

Chapter 727

“Accept this” Jonathan said nonchalantly. “Charlie also has a responsibility to the child, which can be

seen as my compensation for him”

Hearing Charlie’s name, Emily’s face changed slightly.

Estelle put the card in her pocket, “Don’t push this away Y

ou will need a lot of money when you get there, Jonathan and I have talked and we’ll help take care of

the baby once he’s born. We owe you that ” Emily wrapped her arms around Estelle, choking on her

words, “Estelle, I wish you and Jonathan all the happiness in the world I be back for your wedding.

We’ll stay in touch.”

Estelle patted her on the shoulder, “Take care, we will visit you when we have time.”

“Alright, I’ll take care of myself. And so will you!” Emily took a deep breath, not wanting to cry at their

farewell. She stepped back, gave Estelle a last look and a small smile, “Take care.”

Estelle nodded, “Safe travels,”

Emily, choking on her tears, waved goodbye to Estelle, then took a final look at the city she’d lived in

for twenty years, bidding farewell to her best friend and the man she secretly loved

Once Emily passed through security and disappeared into the crowd, Estelle finally turned to leave.

Jonathan took her hand, “Let’s go.”

“Okay” Estelle nodded, taking one last look before leaving with Jonathan.

Charlie was three minutes late. By the time he arrived, all he could see through the terminal window

was the plane taking offnovelbin

He stood there, watching the plane until it was out of sight, feeling empty

He sat in the waiting area, lost in memories of his first meeting with Emily and every moment spent

together. He realized his feelings for her were more than just a little crush.

He loved her laughter, her voice.

He loved her innocence and passion. He felt unworthy of her, fearful that his interest was merely

fleeting and that he would end up hurting her So, he hid his feelings, convincing himself he only saw

her as a sister

He’d been through many relationships, had plenty of experience, yet he still failed to understand his

own heart.

And now, it was too late.

He’d hoped it would play out like a movie: Emily wouldn’t board the flight, she would suddenly appear

before him, looking flustered and confused. But as time went by, passengers around him came and

went, and Emily never showed

Stubbornly, he stayed, hoping for a miracle.

He sat, still as a statue.

Night fell, and after a whole day of waiting, his hope turned to disappointment.

He remembered the day at the Midnight Bar, when she waited for him in the hallway, looking like she

wanted to say something. How he wished he knew what she wanted to say

Why didn’t he stop?

Even if only for a second, maybe she would have spoken.

But he was so angry, so resentful towards her, he deliberately treated her with contempt, not even

giving her a chance to speak.

Charlie left without looking back. He once had a chance to look back at her, but he missed it. Perhaps

he was doomed to be a man incapable of commitment and deep affection.

He didn’t deserve a girl as exceptional as Emily, so letting her go was the best choice. She would find

someone better than him, someone without a messy past, someone who would love her

wholeheartedly and consistently!

She deserved to be with such a man, to have a better life!
