Chapter 642

Chapter 642

The next day, Jonathan left early in the morning, seemingly still busy with yesterday’s acquisition

Estelle accompanied the Lamont family’s driver to Henson’s place for his tutoring session

After the class, Henson suggested, “I’m meeting my friends to play basketball later Want to come along

?”

“What would I do there? Estelle asked casually as she packed up her things.

“My friend’s bringing his attractive sister to cheer him on. I can’t let myself

be embarrassed, can I?” Henson explained

Estelle chuckled, “Well, I’m not actually your sister!”

“Just

pretend to be for a little while. My actual sister has been really busy lately, probably because she’s got

a new boyfriend!”

“You guessed wrong Your sister has actually taken up a part–time job to keep herself occupied

Henson frowned, “So, are you coming or not?”

“Of course!” Estelle exclaimed with delight. “I can’t let you lose face!”

Henson grinned, “I knew I could count on you!”

Estelle suggested, “I’ll head home first. Just give me the address, and I’ll take a taxi there”

That’s so much trouble, why don’t you stay for lunch and we’ll go together?”

“I have something to do at noon, don’t worry, I won’t be late!”

“Alright then, it’s at the same stadium we played last time. Call me when you’re there!”

“Deal‘ Estelle slung her bag over her shoulder and said, “I’m off, see you this afternoon!”

Henson waved at her casually.

Estelle did have something to do in the afternoon She had agreed to have dinner at Old Mr Quintin’s wi

th Jason.

Jason picked her up in front of the University of J City and headed to Old Mr Quintin’s home in N City

Upon entering the courtyard, they heard people talking inside and saw Albert there as well

During dinner, Albert mentioned Carmella, 1 heard she was fired by your studio, Mrs Macclain called m

e yesterday saying Carmella’s been really down, asking me to put in a good word for her and see if she

can get back in?”

Jason frowned and asked, “Didn’t she mention why Carmella was fired?”

Albert shook his head, “No specifics, only that she was chased off by an assistant”

Jason instinctively looked at Estelle, feeling both pity and coldness Estelle’s mother, Simone, knew full

well that Carmella was fired for plagiarizing Estelle’s work yet still accused Estelle of chasing her away

How could a mother be so biased, especially when Estelle is her own daughter!

Estelle’s expression remained calm, though Old Mr Quintin urged her to eat more vegetables, saying hnovelbin

e had grown them himself She obliged, eating a few bites and praising them before turning her attentio

n to the pork chops.

“If you see Mrs Macclain, you can tell her directly that we have no tolerance for plagiarists, so she shou

ld give up any hope of returning! If she keeps talking nonsense, I’ll release the news and let everyone k

now about Carmella’s plagiarism!”

Albert was startled and asked, “What do you mean? Carmella plagiarized?”

“Yes, the evidence is conclusive” Jason said coldly

Albert’s face turned red with embarrassment, he frowned and said, “Why would Carmella do somethin

g like that? She’s actually quite talented, just

a bit too eager for success, especially under Mrs Macclain’s influence, she’s become increasingly impet

uous”

It’s a matter of character“” Jason said bluntly

Albert looked even more ashamed, “I guess I failed as a teacher Please forget what I said earlier about

helping her

Jason gently said, “It’s not your fault”

Meanwhile, Old Mr Quintin seemed uninterested in the conversation, focusing solely on serving Estelle

food, worried she might not be happy and wouldn’t come back next time

After dinner and sitting with Old Mr Quintin for a while, Jason took Estelle to leave
