Chapter 626

Chapter 626

Just before getting off work, Emily got a call from Chris, inviting her out to dinner after work.

Chris had asked her out three times in a row, and Emily had declined each time before. Today,

however, she didn’t directly refuse the invitation. Instead, she thought about it for a moment and

agreed, and told Chris to pick her up after work.

It kept raining, with the light, unceasing drizzle making the evening dreary.

Emily had to work an extra half hour, so by the time she left the office building, it was already dark.

Chris arrived in his car, saw her coming out, and immediately grabbed an umbrella to greet her.

Not for away, Charlie was sitting in his car, watching Emily get into Chris’s car, his usually warm eyes

now cold as the sudden chill in the air.

Perhaps due to the rain, the entire J City seemed exceptionally tranquil.

The weather was unpleasant, so the film crew finished work early. Estelle had returned to the Royal

Mansion quite a while ago, intending to have a barbecue dinner with Emily, only to find out that Emily

had gone out on a date.

Estelle actually supported the idea of Emily and Chris being together. In her opinion, Chris came from a

good family, looked great, and would make a good match for Emily. Of course, Charlie was a great

option as well, but he was just too much of a player!

Traffic was terrible that night, and it was nearly ten o’clock by the time Emily got home. As she opened

the door and stepped in, she paused. The living room floor lamp was on, and a tall figure stood next to

the balcony.

She was a bit surprised, thinking that Charlie would be with his girlfriend tonight, especially after seeing

their intimacy during the day.

Charlie was leaning on the railing and smoking, the cigarette’s glow flickering in the misty rain

He turned around when he heard Emily and calmly said, “You’re back?”

Remembering the scene she had witnessed in his office earlier that day, Emily felt a bit uneasy and

awkward. “I’m going to my room,” she said.

“What’s the rush?” Charlie, his figure shrouded in darkness, chuckled. “Come over here.” novelbin

Emily put down her bag and slowly walked over to the balcony. As she approached, she could smell

the strong scent of alcohol on him.

He had been drinking, and quite a bit too.

Charlie put out his cigarette, his eyes appearing even deeper than usual, as he looked at the girl in

front of him. I saw you get into Chris’s car after work. Did you two go on a date?”

Emily’s gaze faltered. She hadn’t expected Charlle would see her with Chris, but she hadn’t agreed to

meet him tonight to start dating. She just wanted to be clear with him

once and for all.

After dodging his invitations so many times, she couldn’t keep pretending not to understand his

intentions.

She didn’t want to be in a relationship, at least not in the next few years. She wanted to work hard and

make money!

it was because of money that her family had fallen apart, so she knew very well the importance of

making money!

Seeing that Emily didn’t answer, Charlie assumed it was true, smirked, and said with a slightly deeper

voice, “That’s good. Chris’s family may not be super rich, but they have some money. If you’re with him,

you can have an easier life in the future.”

Emily took a deep breath and nodded insincerely.

However, Charlie suddenly moved closer and grabbed her chin, his half-drunk eyes locking onto hers

as he whispered, “I didn’t know you liked him? What did you do tonight, kissed? Who’s kiss is better,

mine or his?”

Emily’s face went pale all of a sudden. “Charlie, you’re drunk!”

As she said this, she reached out to push away Charlie’s hand, but the moment her hand touched him,

he twisted his wrist, grabbed her arm, and forcefully pressed her against the railing while leaning down

to kiss her

It all happened so fast that she didn’t even have time to resist before her lips were invaded.

Stunned for a moment, she began to struggle But there was no place to retreat behind her, and the

man in front of her pressed down on her like a mountain…

Her back was against the railing, her head forced back slightly, the cold rain falling on her face while

anger seethed inside her.

Charlie gripped her chin, not allowing her to evade All she could do was whimper in protest,

overwhelmed by his strong presence. She felt panicked, humiliated, and trembling biting down with all

her might

Upon lasting blood. Charlie stopped releasing her slightly
