eyes. “Jonathan, don’t you think this is too cruel? It was you who proposed to me first. You let me fall in

Jonathan felt he had said enough. He picked up his coat from the chair, “Estelle is waiting for me. I

Yvonne looked sad, “Jonathan, how did she beat me? Is it just because I came back a few months
later? If we competed fairly, who would you choose?”
“It’s not that you’re worse, it’s that she’s too good!” Jonathan answered all her questions in one
sentence.
Yvonne’s heart ached, but she nodded slowly, suppressing her pain, “I understand. You can go.”
Jonathan got up and walked two steps before stopping. His tone was flat and cold, “What happened
between us has nothing to do with Estelle. Stay away from her. I don’t want to see you inviting her out
alone like today.”
After picking Estelle up at the café and getting questioned by her in the car, Yvonne had called him out
right after. How could he not guess that Yvonne had met Estelle alone and told her about the proposal
back then?
Yvonne’s face changed at his words, “Are you threatening me?”
“It’s not a threat, it’s a reminder.” Jonathan looked at Yvonne coldly. “Anyone who hurts her is my
enemy.”
Yvonne’s pupils shook, and she stared blankly at the man.
Jonathan didn’t say anything more and turned to leave.
Yvonne stared at the closed door, feeling as if her heart was being torn apart. She couldn’t accept it,
not at all. This man belonged to her, why should Estelle be allowed to steal him?
It was just a matter of a few months that she returned late. Could those few months determine a
person’s entire life?
No way Estelle was better than her. In terms of family background, education, looks, and career, she
