Chapter 534

Chapter 534

It was almost time to clock off, and Estelle followed her colleagues out of the studio. She remembered

that Xavier’s rest was going to open soon, so she called him up.

The call was quickly answered, and Xavier said, “Wow, you actually called me first!”

Estelle went straight to the point, “When’s the grand opening?”

Xavier replied, “This Saturday. Are you free that day?”

Estelle crossed the road and headed for the subway, “I have a tutoring class on Saturday, so I might be

a bit late!”

“As long as you can come Xavier laughed.

Estelle said, “Don’t wait for me, just save me a seat!”

“Bring some friends!” Xavier added, then heard some noise on the phone and asked, “Where are

you?”

Estelle replied, “Just got off work, at the subway station, heading home”

Xavier asked, “Aren’t you with Jonathan? Why are you still taking the subway to work?”

Estelle raised an eyebrow, “So I can’t take the subway just because I’m with him?”

Xavier laughed, “Don’t be too stubborn. Let him take care of you since he’s your boyfriend. No one

would believe his girlfriend has to take the subway to work!”

Estelle just responded with a vague “well”, “The subway is here, gotta go.”

On the other side, Xavier still had more to say, but the call was abruptly cut off. He couldn’t help but

grin and shake his head slightly.

Just after hanging up, Damian, who was cleaning up front, ran to the back kitchen, panting, “Boss,

someone’s here to cause trouble again!”

“Who?” Zachary, who was cooking dinner, rushed over with a kitchen knife in hand, “Damn it! Here for

a death wish?!”

Xavier stood up, “Let’s check it out!”

The restaurant hadn’t opened yet, just finished renovating, and there were seven guys with tattoos

sitting in the lobby, looking pretty cocky

Xavier’s men stood to the side, not taking any action since Xavier wasn’t there yet.

As Xavier came out, a man from the other side stood up, pointing at their leader, “Are you the boss

here? Let me introduce you.

this is Maxwell, our manager”

Maxwell, holding a knife, glanced at Xavier, “So, you’re opening soon? Have you paid the opening

fee?”

Zachary asked, “What opening fee?”

Maxwell sneered. Seems like you don’t know the rules! Let me explain it to ya, brother. This area

belongs to Maxwell. If you want to open a store here, you have to pay the opening fee, and 30% ofnovelbin

your profits monthly. Everyone who opens a store here knows

this!”

Zachary said, “Buzz off! Our boss bought this place, why do we have to give you money?”

Xavier said, “We’re doing business, we got our business license, and we’ll be paying our taxes every

month. So, what’s the money we’re supposed to give you for?”

The man pointed at Xavier, “Cut the crap! If you’re told to pay, just pay it! If you want to open a store

here, you have to follow Marcus’s rules!”

Zachary stormed up and kicked the guy in the stomach, “Just talk, don’t point!”

The other guys didn’t expect Zachary to make a move, and they all stood up.

Xavier quickly kicked a table, crushing three or four people under it. He walked over, grabbed the

switchblade that was thrusting towards Zachary’s arm, twisted his wrist, and stabbed it straight into

Maxwell’s shoulder.

He moved swiftly and ruthlessly!

Maxwell screamed in pain, clenching his shoulder. The others didn’t expect Xavier to act so viciously,

looking pale and stopping their advances.

Xavier glared at them with anger, “I don’t have the money you’re asking for, but if you’re not afraid of

death, come on and fight!”
