Chapter 434

Charlie laughed and said, “I just had Estelle looking for you. She said you

were still on the phone. What’s been keeping you on the line for so long? Oh, where’s Yvonne?”novelbin

Jonathan remained composed and spoke in a calm manner, “It’s nothing. Yvonne received a call from h

ome and it upset her. Let’s give her some time alone.”

Carson and the rest

were aware of the issues Yvonne was facing within her family, which created a somber atmosphere, re

sulting in silence.

Charlie settled into his seat, while

Jonathan pulled a chair and positioned himself behind Estelle, observing her card game.

Estelle had significantly enhanced her card skills, and Jonathan simply watched her without offering mu

ch guidance.

Emily needed to use the restroom, but the one in their

private room was occupied, so she had to use the public restroom in the hallway.

Upon entering, Emily noticed two individuals standing by the washbasins, but she didn’t pay them muc

h attention and continued on her way.

Unbeknownst to her, the two women exchanged a malicious glance, their eyes filled with ill intent.

One of the women happened to be Nora, Charlie’s ex–

girlfriend, while the other was her accomplice, Lindsey.

Following her breakup with Charlie, Nora had sought out Noreen, whom she had previously attacked. I

n her fear, Noreen had falsely claimed that Emily had seduced Charlie while she was hospitalized.

Nora had always wanted to find Emily, and

suddenly encountering her today had ignited her resentment.

Nora and Lindsey whispered a few words, and Lindsey immediately agreed and left the

restroom.

A few minutes later, Emily emerged and washed her hands by the sink.

Nora, applying lipstick in the mirror, glanced coldly at Emily, “Ms. Sullivan, we meet again? Are you her

e delivering food?”

Emily turned around and took a moment to recognize Nora. She hadn’t expected to see her again.

Nora threw her lipstick down, staring straight at Emily, “Aren’t you delivering anymore? Well, I guess yo

u don’t have to now that you’ve hooked up with Mr. James. But from outfit, it seems

he doesn’t care too much for you, huh?”

your

Emily decided she didn’t want to deal with Nora, so she turned to leave. Nora didn’t try to stop her, but

she watched Emily walk away with a sinister expression on her face.

As Emily opened the door, something

unexpected happened. A black bag was suddenly thrown over her head, muffling her screams. She wa

s swiftly lifted onto someone’s shoulders, and they hurriedly carried her away.

Emily struggled frantically, her head still covered by the bag. However, her attempts were in vain as so

meone forcefully covered her mouth, overpowering her with their strength. All she could do was helples

sly sob into the muffling cloth.

Nora followed and quickly left after checking the surroundings.

A moment later, Emily was thrown onto a couch, the bag removed, and she saw seven or eight

people standing in front of her, including Nora, Lindsey, and several men.

Nora had come to play with these people, but unexpectedly ran into Emily. So, she had them capture E

mily.

Emily tried to get up and run, but a man grabbed her arm and slammed her back onto the couch,

“You’re a wild bitch, aren’t you? Behave, and maybe you’ll suffer less!”

Emily’s face filled with terror, turning as pale as a ghost. “You’d better not mess with me! I’ll call the poli

ce!” she warned.

The sinister man leaned down, his face contorted into an evil smile, and firmly grasped Emily’s chin. “C

all the police?” he sneered. “You know what? Even if I were to kill someone right now, nobody in J City

would dare to intervene!”

Nora’s gaze grew icy as she stared at Emily. “Let’s torment her until she breaks. I’ll take responsibility

for any consequences,” she declared coldly.

Hearing Nora’s words, the men quickly closed in on Emily, encircling her.

Emily trembled in fear but mustered her strength and swiftly seized a wine bottle from the nearby coffee

table. With a burst of desperation, she shattered the bottle against the man’s head, causing blood and

wine to mingle and cascade down.

The man licked the blood from his lips, his eyes fixated on Emily with a chilling glare. “Today, I’ll end yo

ur life!” he declared.

Emily cowered on the couch, clutching the broken wine bottle tightly. “Stay away from me!” she pleaded

, her voice trembling.
