Chapter 430

Chapter 430

The atmosphere in the whole room was quite depressing. Even

the always lively Josiah and Carson and others were sitting quietly on the side.

It was then that Estelle realized what Carson had said was true. He wasn’t

intentionally trying to tease Emily, he genuinely wanted them to help liven up the mood.

“Estelle!” Charlie looked over and called out, his hand subtly supporting Yvonne.

Yvonne didn’t know Jonathan and the others would be here, so she looked up in surprise. When she sa

w Estelle followed by Jonathan entering the door, her eyes flickered, and the sadness on her face deep

ened.

She got up to get some tissues from the cabinet nearby, and Josiah considerately handed them to her.

Yvonne took a tissue, cleaned

her tears, and whispered, “How come Jonathan came with Estelle and the others?”

Josiah looked up and glanced at Estelle, his face suddenly darkening.

Yvonne composed herself and greeted them with a smile, “I just sang a few sadnovelbin

songs and cried, sorry you had to see that!”

Estelle said indifferently, “No problem, it’s just a sign that you put emotions into your singing!”

Emily quickly added, “It was really good!”

Yvonne smiled faintly and looked up at

Jonathan, “I thought you said you didn’t have time tonight, why did you come anyway?”

Estelle interjected, “Carson called and asked us to come, and Mr. Lamont happened to be nearby, so h

e brought us with him.”

Charlie chimed in, “It was me who asked Jonathan to bring Estelle and Emily over!

Josiah spoke coldly, “What a coincidence?”

Jonathan glanced at Josiah and said indifferently, “Do I need to explain myself and show you prove? D

o you want me to show you the driving recorder in my car?”

Josiah quickly lost his attitude when scolded by Jonathan and said nothing.

“Enough, Josiah was just asking casually, why do you take it so seriously?” Yvonne smoothed things ov

er with a smile, then turned to Estelle, “Estelle, sit down with Emily, and just ask

the waiter for anything you want.”

With Estelle and the others‘ arrival, the atmosphere improved a lot. Charlie suggested, “Last time we h

ad fun playing cards, let’s play again.”

Carson cleaned up the table and called Emily over, “Emily, I’ll still be your advisor!”

Charlie mocked him, “Your advice is better off not being given!”

Emily waved her hand, “I have to go to work tomorrow, so I’ll leave in a bit. You fun!”

“What’s the rush?” Carson pushed her to sit down by the shoulder, “There’s still plenty of

time!”

Estelle and Yvonne also took their seats. Charlie gave his seat to Jonathan, who sat on Estelle’s right.

Smiling lightly, he said, “Be careful, I’m right after you!”

Estelle looked confused, “Careful of what?”

Jonathan shook his head, “Well, it looks like you’re going to get a face full of ‘turtles‘ again!”

Yvonne glanced at the two of them, lowered her eyes, hiding a touch of

gloom in her eyes. Charlie took out a stack of paper strips, “let’s not do turtles this time, let’s stick these

strips!”

The strips were like sticky notes, but thinner and longer, and they read,

“I’m an idiot!”

“I’m slow–witted!”

“How can I be so stupid!”

“Don’t look at me!”

Whoever lost would have to stick one on randomly.

Carson sat behind Emily, carefully teaching her card–

playing skills, occasionally reaching his hand over to help her sort the cards, his arm wrapped around h

er body, making it look like he was embracing her.
