Chapter 400

Chapter 400

Hattie quickly realized the person calling was Estelle.

Last time at the 9th Mansion, Jonathan was pretty cold to Estelle, so she thought they were no longer

involved with each other. She didn’t expect his phone notes to be so affectionate.

She rolled her eyes and with a gentle swipe, answered the phone, faking a lazy voice, “Hello, who’s

this?”

There was an obvious pause before a deep voice replied, “I’m looking for Jonathan.”

Hattie continued in a seductive tone, “Mr. Lamont? He’s in the shower!”

There was another pause, followed by a “thank you” before the call quickly ended.

Hattie felt a bit smug at first, but then fear and anxiety swept over her. She deleted the call log andnovelbin

carefully put the phone back.

When Jonathan came out of the shower, he realized he’d left his phone outside. He put on his clothes

before opening the door.

“Mr. Lamont!” Hattie stood up, hiding the panic in her eyes, “I just called Amy, she said Malloy is still

waiting in the lobby. I don’t know how long he’ll wait, so I won’t bother you anymore. I let Amy book me

a room in the hotel, so I’ll go there.”

Jonathan picked up his phone, giving her an indifferent “hmm” and added, “Close the door on your way

out.”

With that, he went straight into his bedroom.

Hattie’s palms were sweaty. She left the room only after Jonathan entered his bedroom.

Back in her own room, Amy immediately greeted her with surprise, “Why are you back? What

happened between you and Mr. Lamont…”

Hattie’s face was flustered, and she glanced around before sitting on the couch, pouring water, and

drinking it. “I wasn’t feeling well, so I came back.”

Her original plan was to secure her relationship with Jonathan that night, but after answering Estelle’s

call, her fear got the best of her, and Jonathan’s cold demeanor didn’t help. She decided to come back

to her own room instead.

“Not feeling well?” Amy asked with concern.

Hattie leaned back on the couch, closing her eyes, “I drank too much, my head hurts!”

Amy sat down next to her, massaging her head, “Malloy has been trying to call you, but he couldn’t get

through. He called me instead. I told him you’re not feeling well and already went asleep. He sounded

pretty pissed!”

Malloy had been pampered and spoiled his whole life, and he’d been chasing Hattie for quite some

time, spending money on her along the way. Just when he thought he was about to get what he

wanted, things fell through. Naturally, he was upset.

Hattie had Jonathan on her mind and had no patience for Malloy, snapping, “I don’t care!”

“Hattie, we can’t ignore him! After all, Mr. Malloy is planning to invest in your next film. We have to think

long-term and not offend him!” Amy tried to placate her.

Hattie frowned, “We already pissed him off, what do we do now?”

Amy’s eyes darted around, whispering in Hattie’s ear. Hattie hesitantly nodded in agreement.

The next morning, when Jonathan went downstairs, Hattie happened to be in the elevator.

Hattie had put her hair in two high ponytails and wore a doll-collared short skirt, looking pure and

innocent. She put on a surprised face, smiling, “Good morning, Mr.

Lamont!”

Jonathan’s eyes narrowed, his face expressionless as he gave a slight nod and entered the elevator.

The elevator stopped on the first floor where Amy was waiting. She also greeted Jonathan with a

surprised face.

Hattie already had her hat and mask on, following Amy out.

The three of them left the hotel. Millard’s car was already waiting outside. Hattie wanted to say

something to Jonathan, but he simply got in his car without looking back.

Amy looked at the paparazzi hiding in the shadows of the trees, whispering, “It’s all set, we’ll be on the

trending news soon.”

Despite being hurt by Jonathan’s indifference, Hattie nodded and got in her own car
