Chapter 373

“Thanks, by

Charlie hung up the phone and put down his cell, deliberately not speaking, waiting for someone to

react from the phonecall.

As expected, in less than three minutes, Jonathan took the initiative to ask, “Where is she going?

“Who?’ Charlie pretended not to know.

L

Jonathan’s eyes swept over, his face cold

Charlie showed a suddenly realized expression, “Are you talking about Estelle?”

He lit a cigarette and smiled faintly, “If you want to break up with her, just make a clean break. In my

experience, it’s best not to get too involved in these things!”

Jonathan sneered coldly, “Don’t try to fit your experience onto me.”

Charlie raised his eyebrows and slowly laughed, “Emotional matters are the same for everyone. If you

want to break up with her, stop meddling in her affairs. Over time, even the slightest emotions will fade.

But if you still want to be with her, she is leaving tomorrow. Go to the Royal Mansion tonight, and you’ll

be able to resolve any deep misunderstandings.”

Jonathan took a puff of his cigarette but didn’t say anything.

At 11 o’clock in the evening, everyone dispersed. Jonathan had a few drinks, leaned back in the car,

and closed his eyes to rest.

Millard asked, “Mr. Lamont, are you going back to the old house?”

Jonathan’s eyes slowly opened, a bit drunk, dark and deep, looking at the night outside. His thin lips

uttered, “To the Royal Mansion.”

“Yes.”

Millard obliged, started the car, and drove towards the Royal Mansion.

The blue Bentley entered the Royal Mansion, stopping downstairs. Millard looked through the rear-view

mirror at the man whose eyes were closed, “Mr. Lamont, we’re here.”

“Mm,” Jonathan responded softly.

However, the man didn’t get out of the car, but quietly looked out the window..

An hour later, Jonathan said, “Back to the old house!”

Millard hesitated for a moment, then looked up and reminded him, “Ms. Macclain’s room light is still

on.”

But Jonathan had already closed his eyes again, “Go back!”

“Yes!” Millard didn’t dare to say anything else, turned the car around, left the Royal Mansion, and

drove into the darkness of the wee hours.

The next afternoon, Estelle went back to C City. When she got home, it was already completely dark.

She saw a stooped figure, standing outside the door, looking around.

Estelle walked briskly, calling out, “Wadel”

Under the red lamplight, the old man’s face was kindly smiling. He said reverently. “Miss, you’re back!”

Estelle smiled gently. “Where’s grandpa?”

He is in the small hall, waiting for you to come back and have dinner together.”

Estelle’s smile was warm, and she walked towards the door. Wade picked up the lantern and closed

the door.

For the next few days, Estelle stayed in C City with her grandfather.

In the morning, after breakfast, Estelle and her grandpa-Old Mr. Jarvis would take a walk on the back

mountain. At noon, Estelle would read in the study while Mr. Jarvis took a nap.

In the afternoon, Mr. Jarvis took Estelle fishing in the backyard. Estelle sat in a lounge chair with a scarf

over her head, Mr. Jarvis hadn’t caught a fish yet, and she was already asleep.

Having slept too much in the afternoon, she couldn’t sleep at night. Occasionally, she would play a fewnovelbin

games of chess with Mr. Jarvis or invite Henson and Hans to play video games together.

Time passed slowly, yet quickly.

This evening, when only a trace of sunlight remained, Estelle woke up drowsily. Removing the scarf

from her face, she rubbed her eyes, “It’s already dark!”

Mr. Jarvis poured her a glass of water and asked, “How many days have you been back?”

Estelle raised her eyebrows, “Are you trying to chase me away?”

Mr. Jarvis glanced at her with disdain, “Where’s that brat Jonathan? You’ve been back so many days,

and he hasn’t even called you?”
