Chapter 302

Chapter 302

Charlie turned to leave, but before he could reach the door, he heard a “bang” from the bathroom, as if

someone had fallen to the ground.

“Emily?” Char

ted instinctively

He hurried to the bam door and knocked “Emily, are you alright?”

He called out twice but got no response. Charlie’s face changed slightly, no longer hesitating, he

pushed the door open

The room was filed with steam and a delicate fragrance wafted towards Charlie. He took another two

steps forward, and finally saw the girl laying on the ground through the mist. She was completely naked

The sight stunned Charlie for a moment.

The shower was still on, water pouring down on her like the scene Charlie had seen outside the

window earlier that day the rain drenched her. but back then her eyes were clear and strong, despite

her miserable situation, still full of hope for life.

Charlie snapped back to reality, quickly closed the faucet, and lifted her up.

Emily was lying naked in his arms with no reservations.

His first thought was, “This girl looked slim with clothes on, didn’t expect that she still looked slim

without her clothes.” novelbin

Not bad, though….

Charlie’s mind raced as he tried to ignore the smooth touch in his palm. He wrapped her up in a towel,

carried her out of the bathroom, and placed her on the bed.

After tucking her in, Charlie felt her forehead, it was burning hot!

Recently, Emily’s food deliveries had affected her eating patterns, and she was already weak. Add to

that being soaked in the rain today and delivering orders till late hours wearing wet clothes, it was only

natural that she got sick.

He called their private doctor back at the old mansion.

Dr. Martin had already gone to bed, but upon hearing Charlie’s call and a rough description of the

situation, he immediately drove over. Considering that this was Charlie’s place, and the patient was a

beautiful young girl, Dr. Martin naturally assumed Emily was Charlie’s girlfriend After seeing the scene

in the bedroom, he kindly reminded Charlie, “This young lady is weak. It’s better to go easy on her, Mr.

Carter.”

uldn’t help but smile wryly, “It’s not what you think, she got caught in Charlie was confused at first, but

then realized what Dr. Martin meant and the rain tonight and was out delivering packages on her bike,

so she probably caught a cold.”

le saw the ope

Dr. Martin was immediately embarrassed. He saw the open bathroom door, the water everywhere, and

the slightly messy bed, and jumped to conclusions. Besides, how could he imagine that Charlie’s

girlfriend would be delivering food?

That had to be a joke!

“I’m sorry!” Dr. Martin apologized sincerely for his prejudice

He moved forward to examine Emily, but Charlie, remembering that she was still naked under the

blanket, intercepted him, “She has a high fever, let’s start by getting it down.”

Holding his stethoscope, Dr. Martin hesitated only for a moment before agreeing, “Alright, I’ll help her

lower the fever first, and then prescribe some medication to treat her cold.”

“Ok.” Charlie replied nonchalantly.

Dr. Martin dared not to linger on Emily’s disheveled state, and immediately turned around to prepare

the IV.

When it was time to insert the needle into Emily’s wrist, Dr. Martin, seeing how well-covered the young

girl was, looked cautiously towards Charlie for guidance.

Charlie was sitting beside the bed, reaching under the blanket to grab Emily’s hand. Her burning hot

body made his heart skip a beat, still he maintained a calm fa?ade and took her hand and placed it on

the edge of the bed.

After inserting the needle skillfully, Dr. Martin advised, “I’ve prescribed some medication for her. Let her

take it when she’s slightly more conscious. According to the initial diagnosis, she has developed a high

fever and fainted due to getting caught in the rain and then being exposed to the cold. If she still feels

unwell when she wakes up, it’s better for her to go to the hospital for a check-up.”
