Calvin loved Emily’s caramel cookies, so Estelle went to the dessert store first.

entered the store, she smelled the creamy fragrance. Estelle ordered herself a pudding and a chocolat
e cake.
Emily brought the desserts over with a sneaky grin, “I added a layer of ice cream for you.”
Estelle gratefully looked at her, grabbed a spoon, and digged in.
The store wasn’t busy in the morning, so Emily chatted with Estelle for a while. As they were talking, a
short–haired girl came over to deliver pudding, smiling at Estelle, “Emily, is this your friend?”
Emily introduced her with a smile, “Yeah, my best friend, Estelle!”
She then introduced Amiee to Estelle, “This is our shop manager, Amiee.”
Estelle nodded at Amiee, who acknowledged her cooly, “I have to get back to work. You two chat!”
With that, Amiee turned and walked away with her tray.
Emily whispered, “Isn’t our manager cool?”
Estelle glanced at Amiee, a girl about twenty–five years old, very thin
and tall with short hair, indeed giving off a cool vibe.
Emily continued, “She’s amazing, my senior from
college. By the time I went to college, she was already a legend on campus. It’s said that a top hacker
tried
to break into our school’s computer system, but Amiee had already set up a security net. Not only did th
e hacker fail to penetrate, but he was also got exposed
on the school website by her! Since then, Amiee has become a campus legend!”
Estelle turned to look at Amiee again, her fingers tapping rapidly on the keyboard, her profile cold and
nonchalant.
Estelle asked, “She has graduated, right? How come instead of doing her major related job, she becom
es your store manager?”
Emily shrugged, “I’m not sure. She graduated two years ago and it seems that she has never been eng
aged in the computing industry. But, I heard her family is very wealthy.”
