Chapter 265

Chapter 265

Millard said in a plain tone, “Mr. Lamont has something to deal with, so he asked you to go back first.”

Estelle nodded. Midnight Bar was close to the Royal Mansion and located on the main street with brigh

t lights, so she usually went back on her own even if Jonathan didn’t come. Today, Jonathan specificall

y asked Millard to wait here to send her back to the Royal Mansion, probably because he was worried t

hat the Burke family would cause her trouble again.

Even when he was angry, he still cared about her safety.

Back at the Royal Mansion, the room was pitch–

dark, and for a moment, Estelle felt a little disappointed.

She understood why Jonathan was angry. He was upset that Norah was bulled by Nicolas and the Burk

e family, and he was angry with her for hiding it from him, especially since Manley even had helped wit

h this.

This was the Lamont family’s business, but he didn’t even know it and secretly owed Manley a favor.

What

she didn’t know was that Jonathan was angry not only at her for keeping secrets but also at her for conf

ronting

the Burke family members alone and even taking action without his knowledge. Fortunately, he was at

Midnight Bar today. What if he wasn’t? What if Austin intercepted Estelle with others at another location

?

Estelle woke up in the middle of the night and saw that it was already two o’clock in the morning.

She got out of bed, opened the door, and saw the man

sitting on the balcony smoking. There were no lights on in the living room, and under the moonlight, thenovelbin

man’s cold and stern profile looked even more aloof.

Estelle walked over and sat across from him, “I thought you quit?”

Jonathan glanced at her with his deep eyes, and put out the cigarette in the ashtray, “Did I wake you up

?”

“No, I was thirsty and came out for some water,” Estelle said casually.

Jonathan leaned against the sofa and said in a light tone, “Go back to sleep.

Estelle got up but didn’t leave. Instead, she sat down next to him, leaned her head on his shoulder, and

whispered, “Can you not be angry anymore?”

Jonathan’s eyes were lighted with the moonlight. He

looked down at her, lifted her up, and placed her on his lap, his long fingers stroking her smooth face, “I

’m not angry. I came back late and didn’t want to wake you up, so I didn’t go in.”

Instead of disturbing Estelle, he went back to the master bedroom but couldn’t sleep. So he came out t

o the balcony.

It seemed like it had been a long time since he had sat alone on the balcony in the middle of the night.

So, he lit a cigarette and reminisced about the days before he met Estelle.

It was a feeling he had been used to for more than a decade, but there was a hint of unfamiliarity when

he recalled it.

Estelle rested her head on his shoulder and unconsciously softened her voice, “I promise I’ll let you kno

w if anything happens in the future.”

Jonathan stroked her eyebrows and said softly, “If someone causes trouble for you, you can fight back,

but you must tell me after!”

Estelle pursed her lips, “I’ll try my best!”

The man raised his eyebrows and chuckled softly, “Is this your way of admitting your mistake?”

Estelle gently laughed, lifted her head slightly, and kissed him on

his jaw. The atmosphere suddenly quieted down, and Estelle felt his pulse beating on his neck, one by

one, clear and strong.

The man tilted his head back slightly and closed his eyes.

Estelle sat up slightly and followed his jawline upward with her kisses, finally landing on his gentle lips

He cooperated and let her take the initiative until he couldn’t help himself and took over.

The moonlight was cool, the evening breeze gentle, and the two of them kissed intently, their long eyel

ashes trembling slightly, revealing their ecstasy.

Jonathan carried her back to the master bedroom while

their passionate kisses continued. He gently bit her cheek with a hoarse voice, “You can’t even stand sl

eeping alone for one night. Now who’s more addicted?”

Estelle covered his mouth, “Don’t say it!”

Jonathan laughed indulgently and said in a magnetic low voice, “Alright, I won’t.”
