It was late, and there was something undoubtedly risqué about heading out for drinks, just the twoof them, especially with a guy like Carson. Under normal circumstances, Marina would have steeredclear.
But deep down, she believed that Carson, despite his reputation as a ladies' man, possessed acertain chivalry. She trusted that he wouldn't take advantage of a woman under the influence.
In the car on the way back to Willowbrook Plaza, Sylvia and Gabriel sat in silence, eyes closed,each lost in their own thoughts.
Sylvia gazed out at the night, taking in the city lights, while Gabriel leaned back in his seat, feigningsleep.
As they neared their destination, the driver heard the man who had been quiet the whole ridesuddenly speak up, "Peppermint tea for sobering up?"
The woman paused for a moment before responding softly, "Of course."
No further words were exchanged between them.
The driver, baffled by their cryptic conversation and not daring to look back, focused on the road.
Upon arriving at Willowbrook Apartment, they exited the car together. Sylvia handed the driver agenerous tip, suggesting he take a cab home.
The driver, surprised to see the two of them heading up together—he had assumed they werestrangers—glanced at the hefty tip on his phone and couldn't help but feel a little thrill. He quicklymade his departure.
Once upstairs and inside, before even bothering to turn on the lights, Sylvia wrapped her armsaround the man's waist and pulled him into a kiss, standing on tiptoe to meet his lips.
Gabriel kissed her back while shrugging off his coat and lifting her onto the entryway table,deepening their embrace.
After a breathless moment, Sylvia paused, her voice husky in the dark, "Why did you say weshouldn't see each other anymore this afternoon? Am I not satisfying you?"
Gabriel's eyes were cool and calm, "Sylvia, you should have a life of your own. We shouldn't revertto our old ways."
Sylvia looked down, "We needed each other before, and we still need each other now."
"In a few days, I'll be going back to C City," Gabriel said.
Her arms draped over his shoulders, her eyes seductively soft, Sylvia cooed, "With time being tight,we should cherish it, right?"
Gabriel met her gaze, "And what if I leave?"
Sylvia smiled lightly, "I've been doing just fine on my own these past few years, I'll continue to befine."
He nodded and bent down to kiss her again.
Sylvia kicked off her shoes, wrapping her legs around his sturdy waist, and while returning his kiss,she began to unbutton his shirt.novelbin
Gabriel held her waist, and she used it as leverage to climb onto him, her alluring eyes tracing downhis jawline.

Carrying her towards the bedroom, Sylvia whispered in his ear, "I can't bear to let go, day or night.Be good to me."

Gabriel chuckled, his voice low, "Who's the one who's been good to you day and night?"
Heart skipping, Sylvia couldn't help but smile. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, restingher head on his broad shoulder.
