Chapter 1949

"Really?" Jonathan's eyes sparkled with delight, " I hold such a high place in your heart?"

Estelle raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk on her lips. "It used to be admiration, now I’m proud of you!"

The hero she had admired from afar was hers!

Jonathan's long fingers tenderly caressed her cheek. "I'll fill you in on the whole Mystoria Federal

affairs later."

"I’m looking forward to it!"

Estelle tilted her head up and pecked his cheek, "I've got to go!"

Jonathan wrapped his arm around her slender waist, his eyes held a measure of solemnity. "Stay away

from that Lambert, I don't like him!"

He had only heard of this heir of the Brennan family, and never met him before. But at their first

encounter today, Jonathan felt an instinctive unease at the sight of him.

"Don't worry!" Estelle chuckled, "I'm off now!"

"Remember, I'm here. You've got nothing to fear!" Jonathan's gaze pinned her in place. "You focus on

your mission; I'll track down Gab. Gab must be safe now! Also, Josiah and Amiee have arrived in

Citadel. I told them to stay put for now, but if you need Amiee's help, I'll arrange for her to come."

"They've come too?" Estelle was surprised. "That must be Josiah's doing. He has always been

impulsive."

"How do you expect us to stay calm?" Jonathan asked. "I can't think of a way. Come on, tell me!"

Estelle, caught off guard, let out a soft giggle, cradling his face and leaning in for another peck, "I'm

sorry. Tell them I'm safe, and they shouldn't worry."

"Message already sent!" Jonathan's tone was a blend of indulgence.

"It's so good to have you!"

Her voice was gentle, and as she spoke, she saw the intensity in his eyes deepen. Hurriedly, she

wriggled out of his embrace.novelbin

"I really must go now!"

If she didn't leave right this moment, she not be able to leave at all.

Jonathan accompanied her downstairs where Sylvia rose from the couch to greet them with a soft,

welcoming smile. "You two could stay a bit longer!"

"No, I really should be heading back!" Estelle smiled warmly. "Thank you, though!"

Sylvia raised her eyebrows slightly, "The pleasure is all mine!"

Perhaps because Jonathan had shared Sylvia's identity, Estelle felt a sense of kinship towards the

young woman. Sylvia was indeed impressive—capable of being charming and well-connected, yet

when she looked at you, sincere candor shone through her eyes.

The best disguise was when one couldn't distinguish between the real and the feigned!

No wonder she was trained by her brother!

Estelle chuckled to herself and turned to leave.

Sylvia nodded to Jonathan and saw Estelle to the door.

"It was my pleasure!" Estelle nodded and headed to the car.

Previously, she had felt uneasy about her precarious situation—she was in the open, Raiden in the

shadow. But now, her relationship with Alvis was something Raiden would never guess. Updаted at

After all, even before meeting Alvis, she had been clueless about it.

This turn of events provided them with leverage.

She had finally evened the score!
