Chapter 1842

The ballroom was alive with chatter and the rustle of silk. A soft blush adorned Emily's cheeks as she

nodded subtly in acknowledgment.

Charlie descended the staircase, Kya in his arms. Kya waved back at Magdalen, "I'll be right back!"

Magdalen's smile was radiant. "Take your time, I'll be here!"

After Kya left, the makeup artist approached with a grin. "Magdalen, it's time to slip into the wedding

gown!"

At that moment, Magdalen's phone buzzed. She glanced at the message and told the makeup artist,

"Hold on a sec!"

It was a text from Morrison. [Grandpa Jarvis and Grandpa Quintin have arrived. They're in the VIP

lounge at the back, hanging out with dad and the others. No worries.]

Magdalen quickly replied to Morrison and turned to Estelle, "Grandpa's here, chilling in the back."

Estelle's eyes twinkled with joy, "I'll go say hi to him!"

Sophia chimed in eagerly, "I'll come too! I haven't seen Grandpa Jarvis in ages!"

Emily suggested, "You guys go ahead. I'll keep Magdalen company."

Estelle nodded, "We'll be back in a flash!"

"Send my love, and I'll come to pay my respects with tea later!" Magdalen said cheerfully.

"Mhm."

As Estelle and Sophia made their way to the VIP area to greet Grandpa Jarvis, they noticed the first

floor was even more crowded than before, with elegantly dressed guests mingling and conversing in

small groups.

The Macclains had received an invitation from the Langstons, and Elizabeth, surrounded by her

daughters-in-law, had brought along only Sabina.

Carmella's reputation had taken a nosedive, and Elizabeth had disowned her granddaughter.

Sallie Macclain, always busy and with a rebellious streak, wasn't close to the old family estate.

Thus, Sabina had become the Macclain's new showpiece.

Estelle passed by the Macclains without a greeting. Elizabeth's face soured, and she cast a

disapproving glance at Simone, "I don't know what kind of parenting that was."

Simone retorted with a hint of resentment, "She was never raised by me, how is it my fault?"

Leonie scoffed, "Estelle might be pitiable, orphaned so young, but she came back to the Macclains withnovelbin

time to spare. I never saw you show any real concern or discipline!"

Simone's face darkened, "If you're so keen on cozying up to Estelle, go do it in front of her. No need to

lecture me."

Unfazed, Leonie shot back, "I'm not as calculating as you think. I genuinely feel for Estelle!"

Their argument was cut short by Natalia, "Enough, both of you. Let's not forget the occasion."

She had been observing Estelle, "Did Estelle head to the VIP lounge? She knows people there?"

Simone replied coolly, "I just saw the Lamont family being escorted to the VIP area."

The insinuation was clear: Estelle was likely trying to ingratiate herself with the Lamonts.

Leonie sneered, "Grandpa Quintin is also in the VIP area, and Estelle is his prized protégée. It's only

natural for her to pay him a visit. Some people really can't see the good in anything!"

Simone was left fuming by Leonie's retort.

Elizabeth ignored their squabble and asked Natalia, "The gentleman who went with Grandpa Quintin,

was that Grandpa Jarvis of C City?"

Natalia nodded, "Seems like it."

Elizabeth mused, "Even Grandpa Jarvis made it here. The Langstons certainly have clout!"

Natalia speculated, "Perhaps there's a special connection. I've never heard of Grandpa Jarvis leaving

C City for any of B City's big shots."

Elizabeth glanced around, "Where's Sabina?"
