Chapter 1809

Estelle ignored his silent plea, her delicate lips grazing his chiseled jawline with tender kisses as she

whispered into his ear, her voice sultry and teasing.

Jonathan felt a jolt run through him as she murmured, "A flesh wound won't keep a soldier down!"

His mind buzzed, rational thought dissipating rapidly as he lifted her chin and captured her lips with an

intense kiss.

After two days, Estelle's wound was healing nicely under Jonathan's careful attention, scabbing over

well.

On the weekend, Jonathan brought Estelle home, where Catherine Lamont was eagerly awaiting their

arrival. She had the servants bring out a myriad of items she'd recently picked up while shopping for

Estelle, mostly clothes and jewelry.

Jonathan glanced over the items, picking up a dress, and chuckled, "Mom, are you sure this is for

Ella?"

"What do you know?" Catherine swatted his hand away. "Global chic is in, and Estelle will look stunning

in this!"

Jonathan scoffed, "Don't think I don't know your game. You've always wanted a daughter to dress up.

Since Norah can't stand your taste, you've turned your attention to dolling up my Ella!"

Catherine huffed, "What do you mean 'your Ella'? Estelle is part of the Lamont family, not just yours!"

Jonathan laughed, "Ella came home with me!"

"That's nonsense, it was Norah who brought her!" Catherine retorted.

Estelle, fearing they might actually start arguing, turned to Jonathan, "Don't you have something to

discuss with your dad? Go ahead, I'll chat with Catherine."

Catherine immediately smirked triumphantly at Jonathan, raising an eyebrow in challenge.

Jonathan looked at Estelle fondly, "You have my sympathies for dealing with such a mother-in-law!"

Catherine's eyes widened, on the verge of blowing a gasket.

Suppressing a laugh, Estelle quickly ushered him away.

Catherine pulled Estelle back and led her to the walk-in closet, "Don't listen to him. Let's try on this

dress."

Estelle struggled, "I have to get to class!"

"You can go to class after trying on the dress!" Catherine had waited days for this moment and wouldn't

miss it for the world, dragging Estelle into the closet.

Estelle, not wanting to crush Catherine's enthusiasm, took the dress to try on.

When she emerged, Catherine's eyes sparkled, "I knew my taste was impeccable!"

Afterward, Catherine sat Estelle at the vanity and began to style her hair with hairpins, reminiscent of

when Jonathan had first styled her hair with a skill clearly learned from his mother.

Catherine selected a sandalwood hairpin adorned with gold and jade, pinning it in Estelle's hair, more

pleased by the second, "I loved styling my hair when I was young and collected many hairpins. Thisnovelbin

one is my favorite!"

Estelle felt like a stranger to the reflection in the mirror and reached for the hairpin, "Catherine, I really

need to get to class!"

"Just wear this to class!" Catherine held her hand, excited, "It's time to prove my eye for style!"

Estelle's eyes widened slightly, "Won't this shock Henson?"

"If he dares not to appreciate it, feel free to set him straight!" Catherine laughed, "He has no sense of

style!"

Poor Henson!

Having indulged Catherine's fashion desires, Estelle made her way upstairs to tutor Henson. On the

staircase, she encountered Jonathan coming down.

Jonathan paused, his gaze locked on her, a slow smile spreading across his lips, his eyes alight with

admiration.
