Chapter 1759

Chapter 1759

Millard responded, and half an hour later, he called Jonathan back, “Mr. Lamont, it's Noreen who came

back. I found out that Noreen has a boyfriend in M country. Her boyfriend lost money in the casino and

got detained.

Noreen is trying to raise money to get him out!"

A grin of cold mockery appeared on Jonathan's face, "I see."

Millard asked, “Should we send someone to find Noreen? Gina must have given the kid to her"

Jonathan thought for a moment, "No need for now. You go handle another thing. I'll take care of

Noreen."

"Got it!" Millard answered respectfully.

Jonathan sat in his chair, tapping the desk with his pen. He was thinking about how to subtly remind

Charlie, when someone conveniently showed up, perfect!

Gina took a cab and it took nearly an hour to get to the place Noreen had mentioned, a secluded

apartment.

Noreen greeted Kya with a smile, "You always have a way!"

Gina handed Kya over to Noreen, “You promised me, you won't hurt the kid!"

“Enough chit-chat!" Noreen reached out to take Kya.

Kya clung to Gina's shoulder, her big eyes filled with fear as she looked at her, "Granny, granny, I want

mom!"

"I'm your mom, now come here!” Noreen grabbed Kya's arm.

Gina quickly comforted Kya, telling Noreen, "Don't scare her. If she cries and the police come, you'll be

in trouble too."

Noreen softened her expression a bit, smiling at Kya, “I'm your mom's cousin. Your mom asked me to

take you out. I'll take you to find your mom, okay?"

Tears filled Kya's eyes. She looked warily at Noreen, not quite believing her words, but she didn't cry

anymore.

"You can go now!" Noreen told Gina.novelbin

"Okay, once you get the money, return Kya to Emily!" Gina reminded her again, worried.

"I know, what do I need a kid for?" Noreen waved her hand impatiently, “Just go!"

Kya looked anxiously at Gina, reaching out to her, "Granny!"

Gina looked at Kya with a bit of heartache, but steeled herself and turned to leave.

Noreen put Kya on the couch, shoving half a bag of potato chips to her, "There's no lunch. Eat these.

Just don't cry!"

Kya didn't cry, nor did she eat the chips. She kept her wary gaze on Noreen.

Noreen ignored her, turning to call Emily. But before she could, an unknown number came in.

Noreen hesitated for a moment before answering, "Hello?"

"It's Jonathan!" Came the man’s emotionless voice on the other end.

Noreen startled, almost dropping the phone. She stuttered, "You, you've got the wrong number!"

“Don't panic. I know Kya’s with you. You're trying to get money from Emily, right?” The man's voice was

calm and cold, “It's useless to ask Emily. She doesn't have the money. Look for Charlie instead!"

Noreen's eyes widened, "Charlie?"

She was already avoiding Charlie. Why would she seek him out?

“Even if Emily gave you 10 grand, it wouldn't be enough to save your boyfriend. Charlie can give you

whatever you want!" Jonathan said lightly, “Trust me, take Kya and go see Charlie. Once you see him,

you'll know what to say!"

Noreen was hesitant. She indeed needed a lot of money, but was meeting Charlie too risky?

"I'll give you some information. Go to Eclipse Bank, find safe deposit box 1109. The password is

today's date.

Take what's inside and go find Charlie, Jonathan instructed.

Noreen's eyes flickered, “Jonathan, you wouldn't be setting me up, would you?"

"That depends on whether you have the guts to try" Jonathan sneered coldly, "I heard that tonight is the

deadline for your boyfriend's detention. If you can't pay his ransom, he'll lose both his hands!"

Noreen's face turned pale!

“And remember, don't hurt Kya. Or else, Charlie will turn your entire family into ashes!"

Jonathan spoke coldly, then hung up.
