Chapter 1715

Chapter 1715

Emily stood her ground, “I said, I'm not going!"

“Why are you so stubborn, young lady?" Ren sighed in exasperation. “Let me tell you something. One

of our senior designers climbed up the ranks the same way. I won't say who but they've been raking in

the dough these past years. Even bought two properties in metropolis, living a life of luxury. Don't you

want that?"

“You've got the advantage, being pretty and fair-skinned, enough to catch Mr. Beck's eye. Opportunities

like these don't come easy!"

Emily retorted sarcastically, “Mr. Ron, pardon me for asking, are we working for Zenith Design Group or

a nightclub?"

Ron's face darkened, "Emily, I'm trying to reason with you nicely. Don't push it!"

“I can't be the showpiece that the director wants me to be. I just want to be a designer. I can't handle

wining and dining clients. If you think I'm not up for this job, then I won't take Mr. Beck's project. I'll even

hand over the designs I've already done!"novelbin

Ron stared at her coldly, "I'm offering you five percent of the total profit. Enough to buy a place!"

Emily's face remained defiant, "Even if you gave me all the profit, I won't entertain clients!"

Ron turned an angry shade of blue, “Emily, if you offend Mr. Beck, it's not just about losing the job. I

can fire you for disrespecting a client."

Emily stood up again, “Do as you please. But I won't go. I'll be waiting for your letter of termination."

Without another word, Emily left the office.

“Foolish girl!" Ron nearly threw his mug in anger.

The next day, Ron threatened Emily again, giving her three days to decide or face termination.

On the third day, Mr. Beck called Emily himself, "Emily, there will be exquisite pieces from major luxury

brands at the exhibition. I'll buy you anything you want. Just three days, and I promise not to bother you

afterward!"

Emily suppressed her anger, trying to sound calm, "Mr. Beck, there must be plenty of women who want

to accompany you to the exhibition. Why insist on me? I believe I can be of more use to you by

designing your villa to your utmost satisfaction. Don't you agree?"

Mr. Beck chuckled, “Emily, I took a liking to you the moment we met. You remind me of my first love.

Please, grant me this wish to make up for past regrets. I assure you, it'll be worth your while."

“I'm sorry, but I really can't go!"

“Emily, if you're still unwilling, I'll have to complain to your firm, even nullify our previous contract. Your

boss will definitely fire you."

Emily responded, “What good will firing me do for you? If I stay, I can still design your villa!"

“There are plenty of people who want to design my villa. But it's not easy to let go of someone I like!"

Emily paused, “Is this how it has to be?"

Mr. Beck laughed, "Emily, you shouldn't feel burdened. This is quite normal, you're just new to the

game. To be frank, female designers like you are hired to entertain clients!"

Emily took a deep breath, gritting her teeth on the inside, "Mr. Beck, I'd like to arrange a meeting with

you."

Thinking Emily had come around, Mr. Beck quickly replied, "Excellent, we can talk it over face to face.

Where shall we meet?"

There was no emotion in Emily's voice, "You can decide the place."

“No problem, I'll text you the details!" Mr. Beck hung up, excited.

Within three minutes, Mr. Beck texted Emily a hotel room number.

Emily stared blankly at the screen and replied, [Okay, tonight at eight. No excuses.]

Mr. Beck responded, [I'll order the wine. See you then!]
