Chapter 1689

Chapter 1689

Considering Antonia’s fiery personality, there was no way she’d swallow such an insult without a fight!

Magdalen had been cooped up in her own office all morning, and by noon, she decided to call Estelle.

“Ella, has anyone from the Crawley family reached out to you?”

Estelle was on the floor, assisting Kya with her Lego. “Nope,” she replied nonchalantly.

“Something’s not quite right,” Magdalen muttered, a hint of a cold smile in her voice. “Did that witch get

scared off by me?“

“We’ll see,” replied Estelle. “Keep me updated if anything happens.”

“Of course!” Magdalen’s laugh was clear and bright. “Eat properly.”

Estelle hung up, only to receive another call from Amiee a few minutes later.

“Estelle, we’ve managed to recover most of the deleted content. The poster who posted it was paid a

hundred grand. The information in the post was all provided by Antonia. The poster was worried about

getting sued by you. Antonia reassured him, saying that all the evidence was provided by someone

close to you and that it was all true. That’s about it. There’s no more useful information.”

Amiee relayed everything she found out to Estelle and asked, “Do you know who Antonia was referring

to when she said someone close to you?” Estelle was clutching a Lego brick, its sharp edges digging

into her palm due to her tight grip. She nodded curtly. 7 know.”

“Good,” Amiee’s voice was icy. “Call me if you need anything.”

Estelle ended the call and twirled the Lego brick in her hand. Her clear eyes sparkled with a cold light.

Bennett, Simone must have been her enemies in a past life. Even in this life, as kin bound by blood,

they were still at odds with each other, determined to fight till the end.

In a suburb of J City, inside a villa.

Upon hearing the report from his subordinate, Cliff’s face turned ashen. He kicked over the chair in

front of him. “Jonathan’s too damn arrogant. If my daughter gets even a scratch, I won’t let him getnovelbin

away with it!”

The man who came to report was keeping his head low, not even daring to breathe too loudly.

Cliff growled, “Any news? Have they found Antonia?”

The subordinate frowned tightly, “Not yet. We only found Ms. Crawley’s classmates. They said she was

taken away from the 9th Mansion. We checked the surveillance footage from the Mansion, and it was

indeed Jonathan’s man, Millard, who took her away. But after they left the Mansion, it became difficult

to track them, especially since this isn’t B City and we can’t take any action as freely.”

Cliff narrowed his cold eyes, “So someone’s not cooperating?”

The subordinate nodded, “Yes, everyone in J City listens to the Lamont family1

Cliff, irate, kicked another chair. “So we’re just thrown to a passivity?”

The subordinate suggested, “Mr. Crawley, why don’t you contact Jonathan? Ask him what he wants

and we can also find out about Ms. Crawley’s

condition.”

Cliff scoffed arrogantly, “I don’t believe he’d dare harm Antonia!”

“Regardless, since we’re here, we should talk to the Lamont family.”

Suppressing his anger, Cliff ordered, “Contact Jonathan immediately and tell him I’ve arrived”

“Got it”

As the subordinate left to make the call, another one approached Cliff with a second phone. “Mr.

Crawley, your wife is on the line.”

Cliff, already exasperated, knew that his wife was calling about their daughter. She’d already called five

times since morning. He took the phone. answering. “Dorothy!”

Dorothy Crawley’s voice was frantic. “What’s the situation there. Have you seen Antonia?”

“Not yet”

“What do you mean not yet?” Dorothy asked anxiously. “You need to go to see the Lamont family. What

are you waiting for?”

“I just want to gather some leverage before I negotiate!”
