Chapter 1666

Chapter 1666

Bennett began, “Here’s the deal, your grandpa wants to expand our business in B City. You know how

things are in B City, the Crawley family holds the strings. Were currently discussing a project with them,

and suddenly they call, saying you’ve upset Ms. Antonia, and your grandpa has to clear this up”

Estelle was puzzled, “How does the Crawley family know about my connection with the Macclain

family?”

Bennett’s face showed a hint of discomfort, “Someone mentioned you during our initial negotiations

with the Crawleys.”

Bennett was vague, but Estelle understood. Her reputation as KING had been used as a bragging tool

and a networking strategy by the Macclain family!

“Your grandpa called me again, asking me to persuade you not to cross Antonia, You just need tonovelbin

apologize to her and design a dress for her”

Dismissing it casually, Bennett said, “It’s just a dress, why upset Ms. Antonia over this?”

Estelle’s exquisite features were icy cool. She smiled faintly, “I thought you guys would back me up!”

Bennett laughed awkwardly, “Estelle, your grandpa said that if you could design a dress for Antonia

and mend your relationship with her, once we secure the B City project, he’ll grant you whatever you

want.”

He continued, “Even though you’re a famous designer, you’ll need connections to progress further.

Crossing the Crawley family won’t do you any good, right? And, I know you’re trying to mend your ties

with the Lamont family. Jonathan seems to like you. There’s still a chance. But if you cross the

Crawleys and they blacklist you, how would the Lamonts see you?”

Bennett tried to coax her from all angles, making it seem like apologizing to Antonia was in her best

interest.

Estelle sneered, “So the Crawleys are so powerful that they can blacklist me?”

“You’re young. You don’t understand the Crawleys’ influence. Even though they’re based in B City, they

have connections at the top. Antonia’s grandfather was an elder statesman. Blacklisting a designer like

you is no big deal for them!”

Estelle remained unmoved. “Then let them blacklist me. Designing a dress for Antonia is out of the

question!”

Bennett was getting anxious, “Estelle, why are you so stubborn? If you were a bit more amiable, your

mother wouldn’t have such a bias against you!”

Estelle’s gaze was as cold as ice, “If you know I’m like this, then keep your distance. You don’t have to

worry about my stubbornness causing trouble, and I couldn’t care less about your so-called bias!”

Realizing he’d said something wrong. Bennett quickly softened his tone, “Estelle, I’m just worried, I

didn’t mean to upset you. To be frank, your mom had me sell two of our companies to pay off

Carmella’s debts, and your grandpa is not happy with me. He’s been ignoring me at family gatherings.

But this time, he called me, saying that if I can persuade you to design a dress for Antonia, he’ll let

bygones be bygones. Can’t you just do this for your poor old dad?”

Estelle retorted, “So, I’m left to deal with the mess that Carmella created?”

“No!” Bennett quickly defended, “That’s not what I meant!”

His gaze shifted as he lowered his voice, “Your grandpa’s old, and it’s probably time for him to divide

his assets. If we’re on his good side, he’ll give us more. I promise you, you’ll get 20% more than

Carmella from the Macclain family’s fortune!”

Estelle snorted in disbelief.

So, Bennett’s true intention was to use her to curry favor with the family, in hopes of getting a larger

share of the inheritance.

And her reward for this was a share that was slightly larger than Carmella’s.

Bennett stared at her in surprise, then realized she might not understand the significance of the 20%.

“Estelle, you may not realize what 20% means. That amount could set you up for life and you won’t

have to answer to anyone. You could quit designing and do whatever you please!”
