Chapter 1640

Chapter 1640

Before heading to bed on the evening, Elliott was struck by the sudden realization that the next day

was Thanksgiving. He discussed it with Gina.

“Mom, tomorrow’s Thanksgiving. I should call Emily and ask her to come home for the holiday! It’s

been a long time since she visited. I’ll go to the farmers market early tomorrow to buy some of her

favorite foods, and for Kya too. Well have a lively family celebration.”

As he reached for his phone to call Emily, Gina’s expression changed and she quickly stopped him,

“Don’t make the call!”

“What’s wrong?” Elliott asked, puzzled. novelbin

Gina hesitated. She didn’t know that Shawn had found a job and moved out. She assumed he was still

living with Emily and feared that if she called Emily. she would bring Shawn along.

The last thing she wanted was to let Shawn know they lived here and then have him linger and refuse

to leave. She didn’t want to argue with him every day.

She was even more afraid that Bonnie Ferber would find out about Elliott’s gambling-addict father.

Bonnie might get upset and return to her own family. She was still hoping that Bonnie would quickly

give her a grandchild.

“Emily called me this afternoon. She said she has to work late tomorrow, and can’t make it!” Gina

quickly fabricated an excuse.

Elliott frowned, “Working late on Thanksgiving?”

Bonnie walked over with a faint smile, “In a big company, it’s always busy! Our Emily is the CEO’s right

hand person, has even more on her plate. You think she’s like you, working tirelessly and not earning

much money?”

Elliott didn’t want to listen to Bonnie’s gossip, so he quickly said, “Well, let’s forget about it. Let Emily

focus on her work then. We’ll invite her over when she has time.”

When Bonnie went to the kitchen for a drink, Gina called Elliott into her room and whispered, “Is Bonnie

upset with you?”

“No!” Elliott responded softly, “She was just joking!”

Gina nodded, “Now that you’re not as busy with work and not always working late, take the opportunity

to have a baby with Bonnie!” Elliott chuckled nervously, “We’ve just gotten married; there’s no rush,”

“You may not in a hurry, but I am!” Gina gave Elliott a meaningful look, “Once you have a child, Bonnie

will truly stand by you.”

“Alright, I got it!”

Elliott replied in a perfunctory manner. “I’m going to bed now, mom. If you have some free time, you

can visit Emily and help her with Kya.” Gina gave a guilty smile, “I’ll go in a couple of days.”

Tomorrow was Thanksgiving and but the festive atmosphere had already evident in the streets.

The night scene in J City was resplendent, especially with the added light displays for the holiday,

making it even more splendid.

Estelle lay on the bed, watching the fireworks outside. The flickering lights reflected in her moist eyes,

which clear and radiant.

Jonathan emerged from the bathroom, with only a towel wrapped around his waist. He had a perfectly

proportioned physique, exuding a strong. masculine presence.

He sat on the bed and let Estelle rest her head on his lap. He took a body lotion and gently applied it to

her back.

Her skin was smooth as cream, as soft as white jade, and it felt exquisite to touch. Jonathan’s eyes

held a sense of accomplishment as his hand massaged her back to relieve her fatigue.

Estelle hugged his waist and was getting so comfortable that she was about to fall asleep.

“We’re taking the flight tomorrow at ten. I’ve already called grandpa, and he said he’ll be waiting for us

to have lunch together.” Jonathan leaned down to kiss her earlobe, whispering into her ear.

Estelle lazily hummed in agreement.

She trusted him to handle things

Suddenly, something crossed her mind. Estelle tilted her head slightly, “I want to bring Emily and Kya

back to C City with us for the holiday What do you think?”

Jonathan raised an eyebrow, “Emily and Charlie haven’t reconciled?”

Estelle murmured, “Do you not know whether they’ve reconciled?*
