Chapter 159

Chapter 159

“No need.”

Coming out of the private room, Estelle was still thinking about Charlie’s words. The person who

robbed her was indeed instructed by Lucille. That day, she heard Jonathan calling to check on the

person behind the scenes. But he never said anything about it afterwards, and she thought he never

found anything.

Turns out he found out it was Lucille and took revenge for her.

Why didn’t he tell her anything?

Estelle leaned against the wall with mixed feelings, she took out her phone and wanted to call

Jonathan, at least to say thank you.

But after hesitating for a moment, the call was never made.

So much time has passed since then, maybe he has long forgotten.

She will keep this in mind and find an opportunity to thank him later.

Returning to the break room, Susan and a few others were there. They probably all heard about what

happened in room 8807 just now, casting their eyes at Estelle with suspicion, fear, and a hint of

jealousy.

Susan asked tentatively, “Estelle, do you know Mr. James?”

Estelle replied faintly, “Not really, he’s a friend of my friend.”

Seeing what happened with Garrison, Melody was even more annoyed and sneered, “If she knew Mr.

James well, she wouldn’t be a waitress like us!”

Upon hearing this, the others relaxed and went back to their business.

Over the next two days, Estelle gradually became familiar with the work and environment on the 8th

floor, handling everything quite smoothly. Melody didn’t try anything else again, and there were no

more guests like Garrison Ladd trying to harass her.

On Friday night, Jonathan just got home when he received a call from Charlie, “We’re at Midnight Bar,

come out and have some fun.”

Jonathan, with his suit draped over his arm, headed upstairs, “Nah, you guys have fun, I’m good!”

“You’ve been turning down our invitations several times, feeling down?” Charlie asked with a laugh.

“No!” Jonathan didn’t want to elaborate.

Charlie chuckled meaningfully, “Guess who I just saw?”

Jonathan wasn’t very interested, his voice lazy, “Who?”

“That little girl from your place, she’s a waitress at Midnight Bar. She just came by to serve us drinks.”

Charlie said with a faint smile.

Jonathan’s hand paused as he pulled at his tie, his eyes narrowing, “You mean Estelle?”

“Yes, she’s been here for a few days now. I saw her a few days ago but forgot to tell you. At that time,

Garrison was giving her a hard time, but I helped her out.”

Jonathan’s eyes dimmed, he asked in a deep voice, “What did Garrison do to her?”

Charlie explained what happened that day, “The girl’s got a stubborn temper and she’s pretty fierce too.

She slapped him and made his face swell up. Oh, and I just saw Garrison come in earlier, hope he

doesn’t cause her any trouble today…”

As soon as Charlie finished speaking, Jonathan had already hung up.

Charlie looked at his phone, a meaningful smile appearing on his lips.

In less than half an hour, Charlie was playing cards with others when Jonathan walked through the

door.

Everyone got up and greeted Jonathan, making room for him in the middle seat of the couch.

Charlie left the card game and walked over to Jonathan. Sitting down, he teased, “I thought you weren’t

coming?”

Jonathan glanced at him, “How long has she been here?”

Charlie counted, “The day I saw her, she said it was her first day at work, so it should be four days till

today.”

Jonathan frowned, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

Charlie shrugged innocently, “She didn’t want me to say anything to you.” novelbin

Jonathan’s expression darkened even more, “Where’s Gamison?”

“He’s in room 8803.”

“Tell him to come here!”
