Chapter 1559

Chapter 1559

Kya’s eyes were so deep. “That’s why I said I almost cried.”

Emily laughed and pinched her little face. “Kya didn’t cry, which means Kya is a grown-up girl now!”

“Mom, where did you go?”

“I visited your uncle; he’s sick.”

“Is uncle afraid of taking medicine? Can I visit him?” Kya’s serious expression was especially adorable.

Emily said, “He’s not scared, he’s brave. When mommy gets a day off this weekend, how about we go

to grandma’s house to see him?”

“Okay, can we buy two bags of milk candies for Uncle?”

“Are the milk candies for Uncle?” Ms. Simmons couldn’t help but chuckle and poured a cup of warm

water for Emily. “Emily, have some water first, you’ve had a long day. I’ll have dinner ready in a bit, you

can leave then.”

“Then I might as well stay for dinner. Estelle isn’t coming over today, so it’ll be just the three of us.”

Ms. Simmons asked, “What about Mr. James?”

Emily paused for a moment, then laughed. “I don’t think he’ll be coming over either.”

*Alright then, I’ll start cooking.” Ms. Simmons cheerfully said.

Emily carried Kya into the living room and let her play with her blocks while she went to take a bath and

change. When she came out, her phone on the bedside table rang. She picked it up, glanced at it, and

answered, “Hello?” “Are you home?” Charlie asked.

“I just got home!”

Kya make a fuss?”

“No, she behaved!”

Charlie chuckled. “I’ve been thinking about her all day, did she miss me at all?”

“Nope, she’s only got her bunny candies on her mind.” Emily giggled.

Charlie laughed out loud. “Then I’ll buy her a bunch more, so she’ll think of me whenever she craves

for candies.”

Emily smiled and looked down at the pattern on her pajamas, saying nothing.

“I have a cocktail party tonight, so I might be home late. We didn’t sleep well last night, you should go

to bed early. Charlie said it softly. “Okay!” Emily replied.

The invitation to the party had arrived three days ago, and she had personally scheduled it for him.

After a brief pause, Charlie suddenly asked in a deep voice, “Why didn’t you ask me about last night?”

Emily looked up. “What happened last night?”

Charlie paused, then said slowly, “Never mind, I’ll hang up first.”

“Mm.”

Emily hung up the phone, then realized after a moment that Charlie was probably referring to the

woman she saw in the hallway of The Velvet Spring Hotel last night.

What was she supposed to ask? If there was something going on between them?

Did she really need to ask? novelbin

Emily smiled at herself, put her phone on the table, and went out to join Kya

Across the line, Charlie held his phone, his usually lazy and noble gaze now filled with a quiet

solemnity He leaned back in his chair and looked out at the sunset through the floor to ceiling

windows.

Suddenly he felt as though he wasn’t that important to Endy

He felt that Emily didn’t love her, she was with him only because she owed him a favor and because of

his persistence. Whether he spent the right with her or with another woman, the didnt seem to care or

show any interest. She never even questioned him, as if it was none of her business/Thats why she

never made the relationship public. To her they werent dating they were maintaining a cohabiting

relationship that could end et any monent.

Suddenly Charbe felt a profound sense of loss
