Chapter 1483

Chapter 1483

Victor didn’t care, “What can he do knowing you’re there for me? You’re a big deal now, the Macclains

are sure to treat you right. They wouldn’t do anything to me considering you!”

“Don’t forget, Bennett has no clue about us. If you push it too far, he might boot you out of the

company”

Victor was worried, “Does he know?”

“I covered it up for you. You need to keep your chin up. Don’t get too greedy in the first place. I brought

you into the Macclain family for other reasons than a little profit.” Carmella lowered her voice, You have

to look beyond that ”

Victor gave it some thought and chuckled, “Alright, I’m all ears.”

“Beware of Manager Cheney, use your brain when you do things, and don’t let people find your

weakness, I can’t always be there to bail you out!” Carmella warned.

“Ok, I got it!”

“Do as I say, and someday I’ll make you filthy rich. The Macclains’ wealth will be ours.” Sensing Victor’s

impatience, Carmella patiently guided him, painting a rosy picture of the future.

Sure enough, Victor perked up at that, “Sis, you’ve finally figured it out!”

“Are you going to listen to me?”

Absolutely, your wish is my command!” Victor responded without skipping a beat.

“Great, hang up!”

Carmella let out a satisfied laugh and hung up.

On the other end, Sallie was calling Estelle, hoping she’d come to the celebration. Knowing Estelle

wanted nothing to do with the Macclains, she sweet-talked, “Come for me, would you? I’m stuck on the

designs for this season, I would like you to guide me.”

After some thought, Estelle agreed, “Alright, I’ll come by later tonight.”

“Just so long as you can make it!” Sallie perked up.

“See you tonight!”

“Alright, can’t wait!”

Sallie hung up, her mood instantly lifted at the thought of seeing Estelle. She wasn’t as irked as before

seeing Carmella strutting about when she got home….

The Macclains’ celebration was held at a banquet hall on the 26th floor of a hotel. Everyone from the

Macclains was there except Estelle, and Terrence had invited some of their well-connected friends.

Simone, naturally, invited her gal pals.

Never one to miss a chance to show off, Simone asked Carmella to invite her teacher, Albert Mullins, novelbin

and his wife, but Carmella felt like she didn’t need Albert anymore. Given their past, she made up an

excuse that Albert was out of the country and couldn’t make it. Simone bought it hook, line, and sinker

without double-checking.

By seven, the guests had all arrived. Men in suits and women in dazzling outfits made for a grand and

luxurious affair.

Although the Macclain family was not the top rich family in J City, the people they associated with were

very rich or powerful people. Simone and Carmella flitted about, turning the celebration for Carmella

and Sallie into their own personal stage.

Once, Sabina was the pride of the Macclains, now it was Carmella. Seeing all this, Natalia was

cheesed off and vented to Leonie. Leonie, however, also became more cunning and just sneered, “Our

Sallie always keeps a low profile. Let’s give them the spotlight today. I’m just gonna see if they’re

having too much fun.”

Seeing that Leonie wasn’t swayed by her instigation, Natalia gave an awkward laugh and kept her

opinions to herself.

Sallie sat to one side, taking out her design sketches from her bag, deep in thought about how to make

her designs stand out even more. Occasionally, she looked up to see Carmelia being fawned over like

a peacock showing its plumage, and an idea suddenly struck her.
