Chapter 132

Chapter 132

Estelle sat in the chair, looking up helplessly at Magdalen, “What did you do to him?”

Magdalen’s eyes widened in alarm. “Has he discovered that Sylvia was actually sent by me?”

Estelle sighed, “Magdalen, I told you not to send anyone to test Jonathan, why didn’t you listen?”

No wonder she brought Sylvia today, so that was the real purpose.

Magdalen voiced her concern, saying, “You two have been together for such a long time. I need to

understand his attitude towards you.” Estelle nodded, “Thank you, now I know.”

“What do you mean?” Magdalen frowned, “What did he say?”

I

Estelle looked down, her toes swaying, sweeping the cobblestones on the ground, “He was annoyed,

really angry, I guess… our relationship might be over.”

Magdalen let out an exasperated sigh.

All she wanted was to determine if Jonathan had a reputation as a playboy, but she had no intention of

ending their legal marriage. Feeling frustrated, she decided to approach Jonathan and clarify that thenovelbin

situation had nothing to do with him; it was solely her own idea.

As Magdalen turned to leave, Estelle quickly caught hold of her wrist, urging her not to go.

Magdalen looked back with puzzlement.

Estelle raised her eyebrows, “Magdalen, are you going to plead with him to stay on my behalf?”

It was like Magdalen had a bucket of cold water poured on her, waking her up.

She looked dejected, “What can I do for you now?”

Estelle stood up abruptly. “Take me home!” she demanded.

Magdalen, “…”

Both of them had been drinking, so they hired a designated driver. On the way back, they sat in the

backseat. Magdalen held Estelle’s hand, “Ella, I’m sorry, I’ll listen to you from now on!”

Estelle chuckled, “I doubt you’ll listen!”

“Anyway, from now on, I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do, I promise!” Magdalen raised her

hand and swore cutely.

Estelle gently pulled her hand away from Magdalen’s grip. “Actually, this situation isn’t entirely your

fault,” she admitted. “There are other issues between me and Jonathan as well.”

Curiosity piqued, Magdalen inquired, “What other issues?”

With a pensive expression, Estelle pursed her lips and shifted her gaze towards the window. “I can’t

say,” she replied evasively.

It seemed that they had been quite harmonious before, but suddenly, things had turned cold.

After the exams, it was summer vacation. Estelle suddenly had free time. She first went with Jason to

visit old Mr. Quintin and stayed there for two days. Then she locked herself in her room and designed

two sets of jewelry for Harriet.

For a long time, she hadn’t seen Jonathan again.

During one of her lessons with the Lamont family kids, she heard that Jonathan had gone on a

business trip to M Country.

When the end of the month came, she received her tutoring salary which was sent through the Lamont

family. It was doubled compared to what they had agreed on.

She thought it was a mistake made by Fabian, so she called him. Fabian said it was Jonathan’s idea.

He was so angry about Sylvia’s incident and hadn’t been to the Royal Mansion since then, but he

doubled her salary. What did this

mean?

Estelle felt a slight sense of confusion.

After transferring the rent to Jonathan, she paused for a moment, contemplating her next move. Finally,

she decided to send him a message expressing her gratitude: “Just wanted to let you know that I

received the increased salary. Thank you!”
