Chapter 1304

Chapter 1304

Emily didn’t say another word; she was too focused on blow drying his hair

Between the two of them, one standing and one sitting, all Charlie had to do was turn his head slightly

to come into contact with Emily He was tense, trying to keep his cool in case she said something that

would tick him off

Before long, Charlie’s hair was dry. Emily switched off the hairdryer, wound up the cord, and asked

uncertainly, “Are you sure you want to sleep in the master bedroom? Kya tosses and turns a lot in hernovelbin

sleep, she might kick you, it might not be comfortable for you

“I wouldn’t be able to sleep well in the quest room either.” The man said it impatiently.

So why was he sticking around?

However, Emily only dared to ask this question in her heart. She nodded. “You go to sleep, I’m going to

take a shower”

Charlie headed for the master bedroom with a poker face. Before he walked in, he glanced back at her

and said, “Don’t forget to say goodnight”

He really did treat her like a maid!

After Emily had taken her shower, she remembered Charlie’s instructions and went to the master

bedroom to say goodnight before heading to her own room.

The bedside lamp was still on, and Charlie was lying on his side in bed with Kya in his arms. If she

didn’t think about his previous cold words, this was indeed a heartwarming scene

Emily walked over to turn off the bedside lamp, and the room instantly plunged into darkness, only the

moonlight remained.

She wasn’t sure if Charlie was asleep already, so she whispered, “Goodnight.”

Charlie responded with a hum, his eyes were closed.

Emily raised an eyebrow slightly, tumed around, and walked out of the room. After a few steps, she

looked back, unsure. Charlie had never taken care of a child before, could the two of them really get

along peacefully at night?

Charlie slightly turned his head to look at her, his tone was a bit ambiguous in the dark: “Don’t want to

leave? Want to sleep here with us?”

Emily was startled and quickly turned around to leave, closing the door behind her as she went.

Charlie watched Emily’s retreating figure, a bit annoyed but also a bit amused. He lay on his side, his

head on Emily’s pillow, covered by her blanket. The faint scent of her perfume stirred something in him.

Had it really been that long since he had been with a woman?

That he couldn’t even control the effect Emily’s faint scent had on him.

Charlie sighed. Looking at Kya’s peaceful sleeping face, he couldn’t help but think how great it would

be if she were his daughter!

She got pregnant after she went to Oakdale City, was it really love at first sight with that man?

He treated her so well that she didn’t fall in love with him but fell for another man.

Luckily, he hadn’t fallen for her, or he would have been really pissed off because of her

Charlie felt a bit suffocated, a cold smile on his lips Suddenly, he found himself unable to sleep.

In the room next door, Emily couldn’t sleep either. The day’s events were replaying in her mind,

including the blurry kiss with Charlie in the private room and Martin: confession later, with his mother

rushing in to yell at her.

Everything happened so suddenly that when his mother rushed in, she was totally stupefied.

She didn’t have much contact with Martin; how could his mother know about her and even follow Martin

to her house?

And hadn’t Charlie left by then? Why did he come back?

Thank God he was there, or she would have been hurt today.

It seemed like she and Charlie were stuck in a loop; the more she tried to repay him, the more she

owed him, as if she could never fully repay him!

When he spoke to her tenderly, her heart pounded uncontrollably; her long-suppressed feelings can’t

be controlled anymore.

Therefore, she’d rather he was a bit colder to her!

Emily turned over, thinking about Charlie in the next room with Kya, and her heart couldn’t help but

soften.
