Chapter 1263

Chapter 1263

Emily raised her hand to cover her eyes, her body trembling gently in the dark.

The next morning, Estelle was still asleep when she suddenly heard footsteps outside. She

immediately opened her eyes and stared at the door.

The door opened, and a familiar man appeared at the doorway. He smiled softly at her, “Morning,

babe.”

Estelle was stunned, “How did you get in?”

She couldn’t have forgotten to lock the door.

Jonathan walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. The morning sun softened his features. He

chuckled slowly, “I forgot to tell you. When I bought the house, I bought yours too. So now, I’m your

landlord. It’s not weird for a landlord to have keys, right?”

Estelle was speechless.

So that’s what it’s like to have money and not care about anything.

“Did you sleep well last night?” Jonathan asked.

Estelle nodded, “Very well.”

“Why didn’t you ask me?

“Mr. Landlord, did you sleep well last night?”novelbin

“Not at all. I was thinking about my tenant.”

Estelle smiled calmly, “You usually can’t sleep anyway.”

Jonathan’s face darkened slightly, and he smirked, “When I’m with you, I can easily fall asleep. Do you

know why?”

Estelle didn’t respond to him, “You go out. I need to freshen up.”

“You’re still scared I’ll see?” Jonathan scooped her up from the bed, saw her in her pajamas, and

couldn’t help but laugh, “Why do you dress so conservatively to bed?”

Estelle headed towards the bathroom, turned around and smiled, “I’m afraid the landlord will barge in.”

Jonathan kept silent.

After Estelle freshened up and changed, they went downstairs together for a jog and picked up

breakfast on the way.

Estelle brought breakfast to Emily’s place and asked, “When did Charlie leave?”

Emily was changing Kya’s clothes, and her gaze darkened. She whispered, “Last night.”

Estelle assumed Charlie had left after they had, so she didn’t ask further.

In the morning, Emily went to work. As she entered the office building, she was a bit nervous about

how to face Charlie.

He was clearly upset yesterday, so it was probably best to avoid him today.

But fate seemed to enjoy embarrassing her. As soon as the elevator doors opened, Charlie was

standing inside.

Emily was taken aback and just stared at him.

Charlie, as always, was dressed in a well-fitted, expensive suit and was responding to messages on his

phone. He only glanced at her before lowering his head again as if nothing had happened the day

before.

Emily entered the elevator with her head down, pretending nothing had happened.

There were two people’s distance between them. Charlie was still looking at his phone, handsome but

aloof.

Finally, they arrived at the 39th floor. Emily stepped aside to let Charlie out first.

Charlie didn’t look at her. He walked out of the elevator, and as he passed the assistant’s office area,

he called out, “Tracy, come to my office.”

“Alright, Tracy responded immediately.
