Chapter 1208

Chapter 1208

As the two were chatting, Gina walked over and cheerfully said, “I’ll hang out with Kya. You two carry

on with your conversation!”

Emily got her mom’s drift and felt pretty awkward.

Martin quickly responded, “No worries, I can play with Kya!”

“No

need, you youngsters carry on!” Gina said enthusiastically and then looked at Kya gently, “I’ll take you t

o my room to play, okay?”

Kya glanced at Emily and obediently followed Gina into the guest room.

The Ferber family were still hanging around, so Gina couldn’t stay in the room for long. After a few minu

tes, she handed Emily’s cell phone to Kya. “Kya, watch cartoons. I have to entertain the guests. Be goo

d and don’t go looking for your mom, she’s having a chat with Dr. Martin.”

“What are they talking about?” Kya asked curiously.

“They’re on a blind date! Do you know what that means?” Gina said with a laugh.

Kya was clueless. She looked at Gina with her big eyes and said quietly, “I don’t like mom going on a bl

ind date with Dr. Martin!” Gina laughed, “What do you know? Wouldn’t it be nice if Dr. Martin and your

mom got together, and he became your dad?”

Kya shook her head, “No.”novelbin

“You should say yes, you should like Dr. Martin because it’s

for your mom’s happiness, get it?” Gina said sternly, pretending to scold Kya, “Otherwise, I won’t like yo

u anymore.”

Kya’s eyes sparkled, “Will mom be happy if she’s with Dr. Martin?”

“Of course!” Gina said firmly.

Kya lowered her eyes and fell silent.

“Okay, stay good in the room and watch cartoons. Don’t disturb your mom. If

you behave, I’ll buy you candy,” Gina said with a smile, trying to placate Kya.

Kya looked at Gina with her long and

twinkling eyelashes, her clear eyes as if she understood everything.

“Be good!” Gina patted her head and then turned around to leave.

Kya didn’t watch cartoons. Even though it was bustling outside, she seemed a bit lonely.

Suddenly, the cartoon playing on the screen turned into

an incoming call. The phone vibrated on the bed.

Kya

couldn’t read yet, but she knew how to answer the phone. She picked up the call, put the phone to her

ear, and said in her childlike voice, “Hello, are you looking for my mom?”

Charlie James on the other end was taken aback, then laughed, “Kya!”

Hearing Charlie’s voice, Kya’s eyes lit up instantly, “Uncle Charlie!”

Charlie asked gently and patiently, “Where’s your mom? Why did you pick up the phone?”

Kya glanced at the closed door and said in her childish voice, “Mom’s on a blind date.”

Charlie paused for a moment, then asked in a slightly faded voice, “Who is she on a blind date with?”

“Dr. Martin.” Kya asked quietly, “My grandma said mom’s going to be with Dr. Martin, and Dr. Martin is

going to be my dad, is that true?”

Charlie’s face had turned cold, but he couldn’t use harsh words with Kya. So, he

held back his anger and spoke softly, “No.”

He asked again, “Are you and your mom at your grandma’s house?”

“Yes!” Kya nodded earnestly, “There are a lot of people at my grandma’s house!”

“Where are you?” Charlie asked.

“I’m in my grandma’s room. Grandma asked me to stay

here and not go out and disturb mom’s blind date.”

Charlie’s anger grew. Why did a blind

date need so many people involved? Had both sets of parents already met? And by not allowing Kya to

disturb them, was Emily Sullivan worried that Kya would mess up her blind date?

Charlie’s anger surged in waves, threatening to drown his sanity. He took a deep breath and

tried to speak calmly to Kya, “Kya, can you give the phone to your mom?”
